White Tailed Deer Sulphur Springs Valley Arizona 2014.JPG[edit]

Hi Old Pueblo, I came across your image of white-tailed deer in the Sulphur Springs Valley of Arizona, and wonder if you might have inadvertently misidentified the species of deer. To get a better look at the deer, I enlarged the image and found the deer to possess characteristics that are more indicative of Mule Deer, i.e., large ears, white-fur rump, and black-tipped tail. For comparison, see File:2012-mule-deer-female.jpg in Wikimedia Commons. Regards. Woodlot (talk) 21:48, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Arizona[edit]

Hello, I see you used an article of mine Palominas, Arizona for the San Pedro River (Arizona). I live in central Pennsylvania, and back in the summer of 1995 when I was only 14, I had a trip of a lifetime with my grandparents to Arizona. I fell in love with the state and decided to really do some articles on it. Especially with towns and cities of the state. I see you love the nature and wildlife, so do I and love the outdoors. Where I live in central Pennsylvania is very rural with mountains, forests, valleys, rivers and fields everywhere. I'm not sure where you are from exactly but if you are from the southwest I'd love to see more articles on the area. Thanks again Georgie_lennon8705 (talk)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Strawberry Schoolhouse, and it appears to include material copied directly from https://www.flickr.com/photos/alanenglish/5066943664/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

The nomination form for that house says it is notable for a Benjamin Helm, that died in 1858 and has a different history than the Helm you reference in the article. Do you have a reference in favor of General Helm? Generic1139 (talk) 14:17, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe there was some family relationship such that they both lived in the house at different times. I'll dig around. General Benjamin Hardin Helm was born in 1830. Benjamin Helm came to Hardin County in 1780 and helped found Elizabethtown. The house was built in 1816. If I don't turn anything up, I'll mod the article to mention the earlier Benjamin Helm only. Generic1139 (talk) 21:32, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Benjamin Helm was the great uncle of Benjamin Hardin Helm. Benjamin Helm had a son and a namesake grandson, all born in Elizabethtown, chances are (though I have no proof yet) that the house stayed in that branch of the family. I'll mod the article to mention Benjamin Helm only, which is all we have a reference for. Generic1139 (talk) 21:54, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Benjamin Hardin Helm probably lived in Helm Place (Elizabethtown, Kentucky) (travel guide and nom form). And now I'll stop using your talk page as a notepad. Generic1139 (talk) 22:06, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

LaRue family[edit]

Hi, can you take a look at recent developments on LaRue family? Someone added Stevie Ray Vaughan, which I removed as being unsourced. Although, to be fair, that whole list is unsourced. A relative emailed me and said Rusty LaRue is a direct descendant of Abraham LaRue. I told her I would add him to the list, but that she would need to provide a source if challenged. --Laser brain (talk) 00:15, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of 2011 Douglas shooting for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article 2011 Douglas shooting is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2011 Douglas shooting until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. TheGracefulSlick (talk) 18:18, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article 2012 La Joya shooting has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOTNEWS

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. – S. A tag has been placed on File:Section House & Railroad Depot Skull Valley Arizona 2012.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
