2010 in alternative music[edit]

Hello, I redirected 2010 in alternative music to Timeline of alternative rock. No other such articles exist for the genre, and it is unnecessary to do so given the timeline article, as well as the fact that the year has just begun. WesleyDodds (talk) 08:59, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

I'll continue to monitor the 2010 in alternative rock page. It is nothing personal, but your timeline is very ehh... exclusive. Many major events are not mentioned, and the style is messy. This article fits well with the already existing heavy metal and country genre specific year pages. In all your list is just a list; a list that I think doesn't grasp the whole spectrum of alternative rock. This way we can add more to a great genre of music (personal bias) (Tigerghost (talk) 07:30, 23 January 2010 (UTC))
Keep in mind Wikipedia is not a news site, nor a crystal ball, nor an indiscriminate collection of information. Also, just because there are similar articles is not a rationale for making this article. Much of the material is not suitable for a Wikipedia article or list, for various reasons. What you can keep is pretty much material that should go in Timeline of alternative rock. Another problem is that from the formatting and layout it's unclear if it's a list or an article. For your work on 2010 in music[edit]

Original Barnstar.png The Original Barnstar
I award you with this barnstar in recognition and appreciation for your work on revamping 2010 in music. Also, for keeping your cool and working out a compromise when you had zero support from anyone (including myself at times) for your bold actions! Fezmar9 (talk) 00:03, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Your input is requested[edit]

Not sure if you are following the discussion at Talk:List of albums released in 2010#Vote to move data out of table format, but your input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Fezmar9 (talk) 18:53, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Wikipedia Reviewer.svg

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:53, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Video prohibition act[edit]

Hi Christopher. I would like to encourage you to write an article about the Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act of 2010. The table at Presidency of Barack Obama is meant for major legislation. I don't want to remove your addition, but someone else might, as it is the only piece of legislation there that does not have its own article. The links there should not be to ambiguated (general issue) articles, but to legislation articles. I will watch your talk page here for a response; I will presume that if you can't or don't wish to respond here within a week's time, that you're busy elsewhere and I will remove the act from the table until such time as an article is written. Best, Abrazame (talk) 18:43, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Good work. Thanks, and best wishes, Abrazame (talk) 07:25, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Illinois election gallery[edit]

I moved your Gallery section to the more relevant article, Political party strength in Illinois. The article Politics of Illinois is not about that sort of ooh!ooh! looks who's ahead game-playing of one party against another. I realize you're dedicated to promoting the Republican Party, and that's fine, but please try to work on the relevant partisan articles . Flatterworld (talk) 21:18, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

  • I actually lean more towards the Democrats to be honest =p, but if the gallery would be better suited for use in that page, I'm sure that it will be a sufficient move (Tigerghost (talk) 01:40, 9 April 2011 (UTC))

License tagging for File:OLCQuincy.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:OLCQuincy.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Replaceable fair use File:SSGHDmap.PNG[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

Thanks for uploading File:SSGHDmap.PNG. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please remove the tag.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 04:39, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

Asexuality article[edit]

Hello Tigerghost, I am writing to inform you that the article Asexuality, an article which I see you have done much work on, has been nominated for Good article review. I have reviewed the article and have found several areas of improvement that are needed before I can pass the article. It appears that the user who nominated the article is a new user with not much experience and may not be able to make all the changes needed to get the article to Good article status. Another frequent contributor to the article has said that they may not have the time to do all the work needed, so I hope another person such as yourself may be able to help. The list of issues needing to be addressed can be found on the review page. You can respond there or on my talk page. Thanks. --Tea with toast (話) 00:35, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Quincyriverfront.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Quincyriverfront.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 08:29, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

I have forwarded the email exchange granting permission for this use to the email provided.(Tigerghost (talk) 09:01, 17 December 2011 (UTC))

The image has been deleted as a matter of procedure due to the lack of licensing information. However, the image can be restored once somebody from the OTRS team handles the ticket. I don't know how quickly OTRS tickets are turned around as I have never dealt with them directly, but I have heard that it can take quite some time. I suggest that you leave a note at Wikipedia:OTRS noticeboard to see if you can nudge one of the volunteers to look into your email. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:23, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
