License tagging for Image:YodleLogo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:YodleLogo.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 05:08, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Self-licking ice cream cone[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Self-licking ice cream cone, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I just wanted to point out that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-licking_ice_cream_cone has remained a legitimate article for more than two years now, so any threats based on my posting inappropriate pages should be retracted. Tom Hubbard (talk) 00:29, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

I will point out that the article on Jed Brandt has remained a legitimate article for over two years now. My stub was quickly built on by several other editors. Tom Hubbard (talk) 00:32, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Articles for deletion nomination of Certified Valuation Analyst[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

I have nominated Certified Valuation Analyst, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Certified Valuation Analyst. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Grondemar 17:19, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Lester A Snow[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Lester A Snow requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello there, I have deleted this page as (short as it was!) it was indeed a direct copy of the page mentioned above. However I think it's likely that Snow may be notable; may I suggest that you draft a page in your userspace - User:Tomhubbard/Lester A Snow for example? Then you can build it in peace until it is ready to go into userspace. Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 17:11, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Amazon.com infobox[edit]

I have been crawling through the list of pages with Amazon.com infoboxes and the list of pages in the Amazon.com category, removing the infobox from unrelated pages and adding it to amazon-related pages. In my search I ran into your userpage with an Amazon.com infobox. You are, of course, welcome to put anything you choose on your own userpage, but I am curious; why it is there? --Guy Macon (talk) 18:01, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

I am a former Senior Software Development Manager at Amazon. I managed the development of the content selection and delivery service that builds 99% of amazon web pages worldwide. I also invented and managed the development of the Advertising Selection Service for behavioral targeted 3rd party display ads. Tom Hubbard (talk) 18:14, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! And thanks for the behavioral targeted ads. I find many other sites have really annoying misses - many ads for things that I have zero interest in. Amazon, by contrast, is pretty good, and fairly often serves up an ad for something I need but did not know existed. --Guy Macon (talk)

I am glad you like it, Guy! Our motto was "give the customer what they want, before they even knew they wanted it." I can show you how to decode what amazon thinks are your actual behavioral segments on amazon.com if you are interested.

My curiosity says "yes," but my workload and deadlines say "no, do your real job instead." Appreciate the offer though. Guy Macon (talk) 19:23, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Wiknic[edit]

Can you please start a page at Wikipedia:Meetup/Richmond with precise time and location info? Is it even possible to have a picnic at the Science Museum (and do you have permission to)?--Pharos (talk) 01:50, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
