Allentown, Buffalo, New York[edit]

Hi, good job with getting something up on Allentown. My goal is to put up articles for every neighborhood in Buffalo. This way, eventually people from all over the city can add the things they want to their 'home' neighborhood page. So, if you have anything more, please contribute!

Your edit to I-190 (NY)[edit]

I reverted your removal of Category:Tolled sections of Interstate Highways, which says it is for "current or former toll roads on the Interstate Highway System". --NE2 00:18, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Frederick Law Olmsted[edit]

Buffalo State Asylum and New York State Asylum for the Insane were both on the list, and they both go to the same article. Thats why I removed one, and have removed it again. Cornell Rockey 13:10, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion[edit]

Don't worry - it will (hopefully) get round to being deleted. Category:Candidates for speedy deletion has 144 articles in it - it is a matter of time. x42bn6 Talk 02:14, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

I've started a chat with the sysop who turned it down - you can keep watching my talk page and User talk:Kusma (the closing sysop) and keep chatting - I'm off to bed. x42bn6 Talk 01:45, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
No big deal. Anyway, blank articles are discouraged and are usually just sent for deletion. Write an article with content or a redirect. x42bn6 Talk 14:23, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

smallest urban area[edit]

Hi, I wish you'd take a look at the talk on the Metro Rail talk page. Note that I changed 'city" to "urban area." I realize that I don't have a cite but five minutes of poking around on Wikipedia will illustrate this fact. --Jfruh (talk) 21:19, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Hello, please have a look at the following Wikipedia policy Wikipedia:No_original_research. Basically it says that Wikipedia is not meant as a place for original reseach and it is just a place to collect already researched information that is source from other locations. I understand how you feel, I sometimes have the same feelings about writing 'facts', but unless you can point to a place where this has been published, your "five minutes of poking around on Wikipedia" is original research and not allowed on Wikipedia.

Lumbaart interwiki[edit]

I removed the links because the articles were deleted on the Lumbaart Wikipedia. --Head04:21, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Shelton Square - Church Station[edit]

I can understand the confusion regarding the illusion that it was called "Shelton Square" while it was a Metro Rail Station.

I wanted to only comment about the area of Church Station being part of Shelton Square during the streetcar era and not turn it into a huge explanation. I was wrong with the wording.

Please, also refrain from commenting in the way you did in the history section. Wikipedia is to offer a neutral ground and I found your comment offensive and an attack on me. A simple explanation would have been met with a lot more respect.

I have improved greatly on my writing skills since taking this up, and find this site a great outlet to share some of my knowlege.

Best regards...--Allamericanbear (talk) 13:18, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Removing comments[edit]

Hi, Tommycw1. Normally, it is preferred that one archive talk pages rather than deleting messages from them directly. Please let me know if you'd like assistance with that. Powers T 12:27, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Excessive comments[edit]

Tommy, this sort of edit is over the top and completely unnecessary. Please don't do it again. Powers T 13:19, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Lt, I completely disagree that these are excessive comments. Removing errant edits has become a large task that had been taken up by myself and several others. For a long time we had no way to combat the problem other then simply reverting the (typically anonymous) edits. In desperation, someone has come up the idea of adding comments to the page to combat the problem. This has helped lower the rate of errant additions, but has not eliminated it. I added more comments in an effort to try to drive the message home. I am fine with leaving it out for now, however I will add one additional comment per section with the next errant change.Tommycw1 (talk) 21:41, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
I would advise against it. This is not the huge problem you're making it out to be. And besides, if one comment isn't sufficient, 16 comments isn't going to be any more effective. Powers T 22:15, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Re: Buffalo NY *Suburban Schools listed in City Page[edit]

I think you might be confused. I have not been editing without logging in, and I don't know who "JT" is. Are you sure you left that message for the right person? Powers T 15:27, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Oh LT, don't worry I'm not confused. I've edited my post on your page to fix my typo. This, however doesn't change the fact that you've broken the RFC.

This edit comment is entirely uncalled for. If you're implying (again) that I'm purposefully editing without being logged in just to circumvent something, I take strong exception to the implication. Powers T 18:32, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

Question about MIL-DTL-5541 Correction reversals[edit] I'm confused by your reversal of the corrections on this topic made with respect to color. I've worked with chem-film/alodyne for many years; Type I or II contribute to color (hexavalent chromium has color, no hexavalent chromium does not), Class has a subtle effect (where it exists; Type I), where the thicker Class 1A increases the density of the color. I would appreciate your "reversal" of the reversal. Engr Dave (talk) 04:20, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Theater Buffalo Metro Rail station[edit]

If you didn't notice, I mentioned the fact that Theater (Metro Rail) station was closed. That list really should be reformatted, by the way. -------User:DanTD (talk) 14:56, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for May 27[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ballast der Republik, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rock (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

February 2014[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • | city = [Eggertsville, New York|Eggertsville]]

Buffalo template[edit]

Ok I have removed everything from the Buffalo template that's not within city limits, is this really what you want? — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 00:39, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Buffalo template[edit]

Hey we should try to figure out a way of resolving this template issue, obviously reverting each other constantly isn't doing any good. My view is that if it includes places outside the city, like Darien Lake, Buffalo Niagara Airport and the Walden Galleria then you you have to include Daemen, since it's even closer to the city then those places. If you're going to delete Daemen because it's not in the city, then you have to delete EVERYTHING not within city limits. I tried to do this, but you reverted me. I blocked your account for 25 reverts today in Template:Buffalo, New York. Please read WP:3RR. Whet you were reverting was clearly not vandalism.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:04, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
Hello Ymblanter: I disagree that this was clearly not vandalism, the non-logged in user continued to try to add a school which is clearly not in Buffalo New York to the template. As stated in the page: there was an RFC in 2009 where this issue was decided. Please see here:,_New_York/Archive_3#Not_in_Buffalo and here:,_New_York/Archive_3#RFC:_What_schools_should_be_listed.3F The version you have locked in breaks this RFC. Also, please note I had requested semi-protection and was still waiting decision on that. Tommycw1 (talk) 19:12, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
You are welcome to post an unblock request and to get the opinion of a second administrator. To me, it looks like a content dispute.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:14, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
OK, thank you. You are correct that it is a content dispute, but one that was resolved 5 years ago in 2009 per the RFC I linked above. Can I at least suggest that the version we lock in is the one that agrees with this RFC? Tommycw1 (talk) 19:16, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
Right now, I have fully protected it at your version, at least this was the intention.I will get back now to check.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:20, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
OK, yes, that is now at the last version that complies with the RFC. Thank you. Tommycw1 (talk) 19:23, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
Welcome back after your block. PhilKnight (talk) 21:10, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

You should have told me about the RFC, had I known about it we could have avoided the whole edit war. Still not sure what Darien Lake is doing in a template that's only for the city of Buffalo, it's not even in Erie County. Does the 'city only' rule only apply to schools? I'm just curious.
