I am considering starting an article about George C. Tweed Jr., who was an electronics engineer and sailplane designer and builder from San Diego, CA. There are articles on his two homebuilt sailplanes already, the GT-1 and GT-2 that I have just found, but nothing about him that I can find. Since I am his son, is it inappropriate for me to write an article about him? Other than his sailplane endeavors (he was an accomplished glider pilot, competing at the national level, as well as a Director of the Soaring Society of America at one point), he was involved in the early Atlas missile program at General Dynamics and participated in the secret mission to broadcast President Eisenhower's Christmas message from space in 1958. https://archive.org/details/1958-12-22_Atlas_In_Orbit

I am new to Wikipedia, though, and am not sure if this is a notable enough topic, and whether I (as his son) should author it. Tptweed (talk) 00:03, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Tom Tweed[reply]
