Disambiguation link notification for September 6

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Sleeping Dogs (video game), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page True Crime. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

DYK for Sleeping Dogs (video game)

HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:07, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

I need to mention this

I've been noticing this for a while and I have to listen you know. You've been repeatedly messaging people, always asking them to look at Sleeping Dogs. That is one way to have people not want to help out. Your constant spamming of messaging needs to be toned out. I don't want to see anything bad happen because of your over-enthusiasm. GamerPro64 14:30, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

@GamerPro64: Thanks for the tip. I noticed that if you want to get something done on the site, you have to do it yourself. URDNEXT (talk) 16:13, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure that's how all things work (unless you are in a position to materially coerce other people... It's also the basis of WP:SOFIXIT) czar  16:22, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
czar, in all fairness the opposite of that is the basis of copyediting. I've been fortunate enough not to have anyone oppose any of my FACs since I returned to Wikipedia in January on prose concerns due to my own work, but not everyone is, including yourself in one editor's eyes. It's also the reason we can't pass our own GANs or DYKs or support our own FACs. Tezero (talk) 16:35, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi URDNEXT,

When I was looking at your Sleeping Dogs article, I also asked you about commenting, however briefly, at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Timeline of Briarcliff Manor/archive1. Please help me out. Thanks in advance, --ɱ (talk) 00:33, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

Thanks, but I really don't know much about the standards of video game articles, or the FA process in general. Sorry. Nightscream (talk) 06:14, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

Question

I'm going out again, so I'll do the FUR when I'm done if no one else has, but would you mind leaving some comments at Tony Hawk's Underground's peer review? It hasn't gotten a bit of feedback yet. Tezero (talk) 00:30, 23 September 2014 (UTC)

  • Sure, I'll take a look at it. URDNEXT (talk) 00:36, 23 September 2014 (UTC)

Sleeping dogs

Hi, just wanted to check. Are you dredging the history for extra text to add in? I notice that you placed a big chunk of text in the Development section, which, after some digging, I've noticed came from back in 2012. I don't think that is any problem but you're going to need to bring in sources, especially for the quoted text from various people. Blackmane (talk) 15:43, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

  • @Blackmane I am indeed bringing in extra text to provide more detail on very important events in the game's development. It would be amazing if you could copy edit the parts I brought in though. After you c/e it I'll add the sources, is that okay with you? URDNEXT (talk) 15:47, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
I will be out much of today, so unless @John can get to it before me, I will deal with it when I return. Blackmane (talk) 00:35, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
@Blackmane I'll check with John. Also, make sure to use a p= after pinging someone. URDNEXT (talk) 00:59, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi URDNEXT/Archive 13, can you please let us know at the GOCE Requests page that you've both finished so your requested c/e can continue? I've put your request on hold—there's no point us fixing the text if it's going to be extensively rewritten. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 19:57, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

@Baffle gab1978 Yeah, I finished it earlier today. URDNEXT (talk) 20:03, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks URDNEXT; I'll let Blackmane know that he can continue if he wants. John (talk) has also been doing some work on the article. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 21:25, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
@Baffle gab1978 Cheers! URDNEXT (talk) 21:28, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Sleeping Dogs (video game)

Hi URDNEXT, I've declined your GOCE request for this article because it is currently unstable and is thus unsuitable for a full copy-edit. Please feel free to re-request a copy-edit once the article is stable. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 20:11, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi there. I am sorry to hear you have taken a break. I enjoyed working with you on this article and I hope you enjoy your break. Come back when you are good and rested. --John (talk) 17:51, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Re: Sleeping Dogs

I have a whole spiel on the FAC process, and why I stay away from it whenever possible, and why you should probably stay away from it, too. S'too bad I haven't logged in recently enough to give it to you. ResMar 21:45, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

@Resident Mario, has this spiel been written out? czar  22:32, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
@Czar, see this opinion essay I wrote—wow, three years ago. ResMar 23:29, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
