Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Deletion discussion about Mirza Ghalib (Pakistani TV series)[edit]

Hello, Umais Bin Sajjad,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Mirza Ghalib (Pakistani TV series) should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mirza Ghalib (Pakistani TV series) .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Wgolf (talk) 16:48, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Zamad Baig in Pakistan Idol.jpg[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

Thanks for uploading File:Zamad Baig in Pakistan Idol.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 21:46, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

So do you have no proof that he will come out of grave and start working for FAF7 UBStalk 14:05, 18 May 2014 (UTC)
Umais, it seems he has shot a good amount of scenes for the film, so I think they will include the footage instead of delete. Because of that, I think he can stay in the cast list. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:19, 18 May 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Bikhra Mera Naseeb[edit]

Hello Umais Bin Sajjad,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Bikhra Mera Naseeb for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Bensci54 (talk) 00:16, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

Rollback[edit]

Hi. I granted your request for rollbacker privileges. Please note: "Standard rollback is a fast way of undoing problematic edits, but it has the disadvantage that only a generic edit summary is generated, with no explanation of the reason for the change. For this reason, it is considered inappropriate to use it in situations where an explanatory edit summary would normally be expected. Rollback may be used:

  • To revert obvious vandalism and other edits where the reason for reverting is absolutely clear
  • To revert edits in your own user space
  • To revert edits that you have made (for example, edits that you accidentally made)
  • To revert edits by banned users who are not allowed to edit (but be prepared to explain this use of rollback when asked to)
  • To revert widespread edits (by a misguided editor or malfunctioning bot) which are judged to be unhelpful to the encyclopedia, provided that an explanation is supplied in an appropriate location, such as at the relevant talk page[1]

Use of standard rollback for any other purposes – such as reverting good-faith changes which you happen to disagree with – is likely to be considered misuse of the tool. When in doubt, use another method of reversion and supply an edit summary to explain your reasoning.

The above restrictions apply to standard rollback, using the generic edit summary. If a tool or manual method is used to add an appropriate explanatory edit summary (as described in the Additional tools section below), then rollback may be freely used as with any other method of reverting.

As with other methods of reverting, when using rollback to restore text to a page, ensure that the text restored does not violate Wikipedia policies." Go Phightins! 22:29, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Expendables 3 poster.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Expendables 3 poster.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 13:36, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Hamza Ali Abbasi in 2012.jpg[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

Thanks for uploading File:Hamza Ali Abbasi in 2012.jpg.

Thank you. January (talk) 14:08, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

Thank you. January (talk) 14:35, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

Fair use and BLPs[edit]

Thank you for all of your hard work on Pakistani actor articles. Please note however that you cannot upload copyrighted images of living persons and claim them under fair use as you have been doing. Wikipedia's policies regarding the use of non-free images in articles is extremely limited, and you cannot claim fair-use when there is a reasonable expectation that a free image could be found, as is almost always the case with living persons. I've deleted the recent batch that you uploaded from various actors' Facebook pages; please don't upload any more. Thank you, --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:48, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

You somehow managed to nominate the Dhoom 4 redirect for discussion on tomorrow's log page (19 September). Repost of Ayeza Khan[edit]

Information icon A tag has been placed on Ayeza Khan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Speedy delete contest button.svg which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. List of highest-grossing Pakistani films[edit]

Would you mind explaining why you recreated an article that was deemed fit for deletion? The references are totally wack, did you even look at them? Ramchand Pakistan's reference says it made 6.5 million not 6.5 crore, (6.5 million is probably about right), but the fact remains that NONE of these figures are reliably verifiable making the list suspect, not just in terms of being incorrect and un-encyclopedic but also raising issues of conflict of interest amongst others.PakArtPatrol (talk) 14:42, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

First of all thanks for starting convo here. Sir the references are reliable that confirm the box office of film. I removed the film Ramchand Pakistani as it collected 6.5 crore (not 6.5 million as you say) just domestically, no confirmed data of its overall box office. The News sources like The Express Tribune are reliable enough and make it confirm the box office of mentioned films, If you think there is any wach reference then it out and remove it. UBStalk 09:09, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
Pakistani newspaper reports on figures are NOT a reliable source. Besides the fact remains that Wikipedia saw fit to remove this and yet you have put the article back up. It is possible to arrive at a most popular list but only in an Op Ed style piece in the press based on interest by the media NOT in Wikipedia because the figures are not encyclopedic fact because it says so in newspapers that are probably quoting an interested party. There is no central audit, the exhibitors in Pakistan are the distributors and it's a closed shop. The film industry nor the public need this kind of reinforcement of hype, and this is not a platform to cycle up the hype, putting on Wikipedia does not make it true especially when it is reasonably contested by someone who knows what they are talking about with no meaningful debate whatsoever, please take it down if you are a serious and impartial editor here.
