Welcome to Wikipedia[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Unibrow1994, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome!

I'm not sure what you were attemption to do with this edit, but see Wikipedia:Redirect. Were you attempting to do something like I did here? SpencerT♦C 02:54, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

1. Use Special:Contributions/Unibrow1994 (or any other username in place of "unibrow1994"). If you go to someone's user page/talk page, on the left side of the page there is the toolbox. Click on "user contributions."
2. For more information on citing sources, see Wikipedia:Citing sources. This should answer most of your questions related to this. When adding sources, put in as much information as possible, but if the author/publisher is unknown, leave it out. Generally, most reliable sources have one or the other. See also Wikipedia:Verifiability#Reliable_sources for more information on reliable sources.
3. For template messages, see the main directory at Wikipedia:Template messages. Click on the links and there will be the template. Don't go crazy tagging stuff up, as most of the time, templates are saved for stuff in really bad shape. The article example you gave (in my opinion) doesn't need to be tagged to death, even though it is in need of more references. Go ahead, and using the information above in #2, add them yourself!
4. Good article nomination page: WP:GAN. Featured article nomination page: WP:FAC. You will want to look over Wikipedia:Guide for nominating good articles, Wikipedia:Good article criteria and see examples of good articles before you nominate one. I would be willing to provide some informal feedback if you had an article you were interested in nominating.
5. Red
And a quick word on your userpage: sometimes, especially if you are underage, you may not want to have personal information appearing. And just be aware of Wikipedia's overlinking guideline when editing articles. Your userpage is free for you to do what you want, though. Happy editing, and feel free to contact me on my user talk page if you have further questions. SpencerT♦C

Janet[edit]

Use your own good judgement when removing tags. If you do it in good faith, there shouldn't be problems. SpencerT♦C 01:39, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

Also, you don't need to contact an admin, or post on the talk page every time you fix stuff. Use an edit summary. However, if there are major neutrality/verifiablilty issues with the article (like is a reference neutral on a controversial topic: Israel-Palestine, for example), it would be best to mention stuff on a talk page. Welcome to WikiProject Ohio![edit]

Userbox[edit]

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "gallery". SpencerT♦C 16:50, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

I honestly don't know. Try the talk page there. SpencerT♦C 23:26, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Created a new one, how do I make the code for it?[edit]

That userbox you made looks fine. There is no "approval process. As long as it doesn't break any rules (and that one doesn't) then you just have to create a page to put it on, such as User:Unibrow1994/LeopardGecko and then transclude it to the appropriate page, such as Wikipedia:Userboxes/Animals. Then you can put it on your user page and perhaps other people will put it on their user pages as well, once they have seen it. Let me know here if you need help with that. - Ahunt (talk) 16:49, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Amphibians and Reptiles assessment drive[edit]

At WikiProject Amphibians and Reptiles, in which you are listed as a member, we're working on a pretty massive backlog (1000+ articles!) of unassessed articles. We would appreciate it greatly if you would help assess the articles in the link. It's simple to do!

  1. Read over the article.
  2. On the discussion page, look for the {{AARTalk}} template. Add in a "class" and "importance" parameter if the template does not have them already. Example: {{AARTalk|class= |importance= }}
  3. For the class, fill in the article's quality using the WikiProject's quality scale: stub, start, C, B, GA, A, or FA. Most unassessed articles will probably be stubs or start class articles, and definitely B or lower.
  4. For the importance, fill in the article's importance to the WikiProject using the importance scale: low, mid, high, or top. Most unassessed articles will probably be low or mid importance.
  5. Then you're done!

It's not a difficult task, but there's a lot to get done. Our hope is that we can chip through the backlog and assess every article within the auspices of the project. Thanks, bibliomaniac15 00:31, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

New Years Message for WikiProject United States[edit]

With the first of what I hope will be monthly newsletters I again want to welcome you to the project and hope that as we all work together through the year we can expand the project, create missing articles and generally improve the pedia thought mutual cooperation and support. Now that we have a project and a solid pool of willing members I wanted to strike while the iron is hot and solicite help in doing a few things that I believe is a good next step in solidifiing the project. I have outlined a few suggestions where you can help with on the projects talk page. This includes but is not limited too updating Portal:United States, assessing the remaining US related articles that haven't been assessed, eliminating the Unrefernced BLP's and others. If you have other suggestions or are interested in doing other things feel free. I just wanted to offer a few suggestions were additional help is needed. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments or suggestions or you can always post something on the projects talk page. If you do not want to recieve a monthly message please put an * before your name on the members page.--Kumioko (talk) 05:08, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

File:Masada Northwest Panorama.jpg[edit]

Unless I am mistaken, something is seriously wrong with the description of this file, and with its caption information at Dead Sea and Masada. Facing northwest from Masada, one is facing away from the Dead Sea, which is to the east. I could believe this is the view facing northeast. Distant Jordan could not be in the foreground, only the background. Please make all necessary corrections in the two articles and the file itself. Hertz1888 (talk) 08:21, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

You're right! I messed up. It's is facing northeast. My error. I will now fix it. Thanks for telling me. Unibrow1994 (talk) 20:29, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

You're welcome! Hertz1888 (talk) 20:41, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
