Digital broadcast info for various stations and possible national AccuWeather channel

I was looking at TV listings on Zap2it and found some interesting details. Apparently WWOR and WNYW cross offer each other on their DT3 channel. I was also looking for a listing that had WABC online Eyewhitness News Now as a sub-channel. It has ABC Eye Witness News & Weather listed and I wonder if it is the same feed as online. If this is the case, I think AccuWeather has created an all weather channel, like NBC Weather Plus. I wonder if other ABC O&O channels offer this service along with WFMZ and WSVN. Have you heard anything about a national AccuWeather channel? --Sam 01:09, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a discussion forum. I'm afraid this is unrelated to our work in creating/improving our encyclopædia. Thus, no comment. --WCQuidditch 10:38, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Spoken Wikipedia template

Hi, I saw you posted a comment about the Spoken Wikipedia template on the boilerplate talk page. I don't know if you've been following the discussion at the main template talk page, but essentially, a lot of people (myself included) agree with you. In the absence of any solutions involving where to put the icon, my suggestion was to get rid of it altogether and replace it with a line of text at the start of the article, just like disambigs. Something like "A spoken version of this article exists." with a link to the infobox. In the interest of being bold, I was about to change it and see how everyone liked it, but I can't quite figure out how to make this change solidly enough to be comfortable doing it. Do you know how to change this? Thanks! -- Laura S | talk to me 22:53, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

I tried it... but as you can see my attempt failed (the disambig-style fell into the external links section). I'm sorry that it turned out as it did, and I apologize that I can't find a way to do it right either. --WCQuidditch 23:44, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

{{ifd}}

Why'd you remove the drop-down menu from the {{ifd}} template? I found the instructions quite useful; without them I'm not entirely sure what the correct proceduring is — has it changed with the template change? — pd_THOR | =/\= | 03:26, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

I was only following the lead of its removal from {{afd}}... I'll put it back. --WCQuidditch 13:15, 28 June 2006 (UTC) (actually put on this page 13:50, 28 June 2006 (UTC), by which point I knew a little more about the situation)

A quick note about User:BRANDASHOT

He's one of a few sockpuppets of BLAKLEYSHOT (talk · contribs), a vandal who constantly inserts false info into TV station articles, namely the ones in Little Rock, AR. I would suggest reporting this user to AIV as such the next time he edits. —Whomp [T] [C] 23:47, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

I wasn't aware about the wider situation regarding this user... thank you for reminding me. --WCQuidditch 23:58, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Some Wikipedia Feedback

Since you are a moderator or something of Wikipedia, I'll give some feedback on your talk page. Editing pages is really complicated, more than it should be. There are all these codes and symbols you have to use to do things, instead of a simple and plain WYSIWYG editor for the pages. If you can do some javascript popup editing thing, that would be much better. In that popup you edit the wikipedia page as it looks, not writing the code kind of thing. And instead of being obligated to write a signature with the four tildes if you could do that automatically based on the fact that I'm signed in that would be best. If I shouldn't put feedback here, can you foward it to whomever this concerns? Siddharthagandhi 19:35, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, but I'm not sure I have what it takes to create such a tool, and I'm not even certain if it is possible to create what you have suggested. I'd suggest you ask this question to the Wikipedia community; you'll probably find the right discussion area at the village pump's front page. I'm afriad that's all I can tell you. --WCQuidditch 20:01, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

This is definetly possible, I have seen it many places. Something similar to the "quick edit" option in Vbulletin forums. Go to any vbulletin forums, do a quick edit, and then you will see what I'm talking about. It is definetly possible, and possible without using flash or any exotic language or format. Just plain and simple javascript can do that. Siddharthagandhi 17:06, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Ah. While it's nice to know that it is possible, I still don't know how to make such a tool. You might want to ask Lupin. --WCQuidditch 18:27, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

WikiAward!

Hey Wcquidditch!

I wanted to thank you the other day for catching the hoax on K07RE. Thanks for debunking a hoax that wouldn't have been obvious to most Wikipedia editors. I hereby award you this:

A Barnstar!
The Barnstar of Diligence

For your diligence in uncovering a hoax article. Thank you. :) Firsfron of Ronchester 22:35, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
You're very welcome! --WCQuidditch 22:41, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Gee, having just read your userpage, I didn't know you'd never gotten a barnstar, or I would have given you a wiki-award earlier. You do good work. :) --Firsfron of Ronchester 23:44, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for that compliment. And actually, I was actually wondering for a while there if I was actually going to receive one... --WCQuidditch 00:58, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
