MOTDs (This space for rent)[edit]

You may have noticed over the past few days that the MOTD that you link to on your user page has simply displayed a red link. This is due to the fact that not enough people are reviewing pending MOTDs here. Please help us keep the MOTD template alive and simply go and review a few of the MOTDs in the list. That way we can have a real MOTD in the future rather than re-using (This space for rent). Any help would be appreciated! –pjoef (talkcontribs) 14:22, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Your edits have been partially reverted by a user and being discussed at the article talk. I think you should add some explanations on the article talk regarding your addition. --lTopGunl (talk) 23:17, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Politician Ejaz Chaudhary Portrait.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Politician Ejaz Chaudhary Portrait.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:51, 28 September 2012 (UTC)

File:Caterham Cars logo.PNG missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 09:06, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of PAC-eBook 1[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article PAC-eBook 1 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:GNG, article is sourced only to a blog.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. McGeddon (talk) 14:08, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Nomination of PAC-eBook 1 for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article PAC-eBook 1 is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PAC-eBook 1 until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. McGeddon (talk) 16:55, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

March 2014[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Leon Trotsky. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. RolandR (talk) 09:53, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Gospel of Barnabas[edit]

Wiki; I have removed the material you posted on the Gospel of Barnabas page - please see the discussion page for reasons (and for much earlier discussion on this topic). There do seem to be regular stories asserting the discovery of early manuscripts of the GoB. While there is no reason that such could not be the case, we do need some sort of official confirmation of academic publication or the claims asserted before adding them to the lede. TomHennell (talk) 17:53, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

I have reverted the attached from the lede para;

And interest in the Gospel has been resurrected after Turkish police found a manuscript allegedly 1500 years old from a smuggling ring in 2000 and made it public in 2010, which is in the language the Jesus spoke - Aramaic [5]

Firstly, although the Turkish ministry of culture has acknowledged receipt of a smuggled manuscript, they have said nothing about its content. It is pure speculation to suggest that it could be the Gospel of Barnabas. Secondly, the sources for the speculation seem to have asserted that that the smuggled manuscript is 500 years old; not 1500. Either way, it has no place in the lede until something more specific comes from the Ankara museum or the ministry of culture. Wikipedia is not a forum for perpetuating ill-informed press speculation. TomHennell (talk) 17:53, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

DRN: Islam template[edit]

Discussion regarding the inclusion or exclusion of the Ahmadiyya from the Islam template is now open at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard#Template:Islam discussion. Please answer the questions briefly focusing on logic and, where appropriate, Wikipedia policies. --Bejnar (talk) 19:44, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

Please could you, at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard#In terms of including or excluding Ahmadiyya from the template, what is the most important Wikipedia policy? state the Wikipedia policy that supports your belief that the Ahmadiyya are not followers of Islam. I understand your concern that WP:Self-identification is a weak argument and that Pakistan officially classifies them as a separate religion from other Muslims. What is needed from you is a Wikipedia policy basis for overturning or mitigating the consensus achieved at Ahmadiyya. --Bejnar (talk) 14:06, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
I notice that you are back editing again (hiatus: 6 May-10 May). We try to resolve DRN's in a week, so your responses to the questions would be appreciated. The DRN FAQ puts it this way: Wikipedia only works when editors collaborate to form a consensus. Discussion is as important in the editing process as editing itself. While participation is not a requirement at DR/N, refusing participation can be perceived as a refusal to collaborate, and is not conducive to consensus-building. --Bejnar (talk) 16:46, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

Now you are committing personal attack (this edit) and violation of neutral point of view (this edit). I didn't say that you are vandalizing the article, I just said that have a look at the above articles before editing Wikipedia! Your six references are already there in the related section! The lead section is just a summary of the article and it does not need so many references. --Khadar Khani (talk) 15:42, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
At this point, I'd like to take a break from editing Nawaz Sharif! --Khadar Khani (talk) 01:16, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

I've been asked to help look over some of your contributions and I'd like to help work with you to improve them. One edit that catches my attention is here. In your opening sentence, "Sharif's political position began to weaken as the FAFEN ..." seems a bit confusing and doesn't flow well with the preceding topics. While I'm sure it wasn't your intention, the sentence comes off as vague and should instead describe how the political position began to weaken. Another concerning aspect of the sentence is, " ...released a damning report which alleged serious rigging..." citing a report as damning and amplifying the sentence with adverbs is not in line with our neutrality policies. It's best to not insert your own perspective and instead write from a neutral tone that only states the facts. I'm also concerned about your edit summary. It comes off as argumentative and suggest that you might be involved in a edit war. I would recommend that you read this helpful essay that describes how to participate in our discussion based editing process. I would suggest that you consider proposing changes on the article's talk page so other editors can help provide input. In general, I'd recommend reading through the sources that Sahara4u provided above, as they're helpful references and policies for every editor. Mike VTalk 17:05, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
