Hi.
One way to contact me is to edit this page and add a section at the bottom. Please Put a section header above added sections. If your topic concerns a particular Wilipedia article, please mention the article name. To cause your edit to be signed and timestamped when you save it, please sign it with four tilde characters (like this: ~~~~).
I will generally respond on this page inside the section which has been added unless you request otherwise. Please watch this page if you leave me a message.
Warren, MA [edit]
Town Hall History and Debate There have been several edits to the Warren history page. Why are you constantly changing the and censoring the point of view of residents of the town of Warren, MA? What interest do you have in our town? I live here and I cannot state even a balanced opinion of our Town Hall. I have never heard anything about a Barnes and Noble which is ludicrous. The building in on the National Register of Historic Places and is an iconic part of our downtown.
- This was in apparent mistaken reaction to some anti-vandalism edits I made to the Warren, Massachusetts article. One of those edits was this one, which removed some unsupported material which had been added. The removed material included mention of a Barnes and Noble bookstore. This page should not be redirected to F-minus, a group he has no association with. A new page is being submitted for approval. Did not realize there was a page already in use. All new edits could be made to this now empty page.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Ericazzz (talk • contribs) 13:47, April 2, 2013
- Thanks for the explanation. This came up while I was doing vandalism patrol and I dithered about reverting it, but blanking pages without an explanation is technically vandalism (see WP:VANDTYPES) I went ahead and did the revert. If you leave the warning on your talk page, various vandalism patrol tools will flag you as an editor who has been warned -- it's OK for you to remove the warning (see WP:OWNTALK). Please also see WP:ES. Cheers. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 06:52, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

- May be, and/or he may be a WP:SOCK. The indefinite block came from WP:Huggle (or perhaps from my settings there). After a quick look at his (short) past edit history it seemed to me that an indefinite block wasn't justified, so I reduced the duration. If he is a recidivist with this username, he'll be blocked again, and for a longer period. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 13:04, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

- This came about during a WP:Huggle session. Such sessions involve looking quickly at lots of article edits. I vaguely recall the "sikhism=" and, as I recall, I made the revert based on the judgement that the text as it appeared looked like a rough draft and not like something which should appear in a finished encyclopedia article. Hello, I'm a drunk. Are you a climatologist or meteorologist? Do you have accurate weather data for the month of April? How do you know that my climate data was inaccurate? This type of plebeian knee-jerk response to bold, critical perspectives on hoary and borderline outmoded scientistic groupthink is utterly typical of the type of blockheads that 'moderate' wikipedia, and why no one with half a brain would ever cite or refer to what passes for 'information' on wikipedia in an actual academic or intellectual milieu.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.6.168.82 (talk • contribs) 14:49, April 30, 2013

- I took a re-look at the edit characterization which you questioned, and it looks like you're right. My error; my fault; apologies for that. I've been having connectivity problems lately -- it sometimes takes literally several minutes for me to get a diff between two article versions, and I didn't do a lot of re-verifying of diffs. It looks like I probably mis-designated the versions of interest there and didn't notice what I had done. If you want, I'll own up to my error there on the article talk page, but I think that would be a distraction from "regardless of how the article got into its current state, ...". Maser edit. Thank you, Wtmitchell. [edit]
I had gone back to the edit page and was just about to change my edit to explain that MASER is an acronym, a little closer to the SASER edit, when you changed it for me. I was of the mind it might be better to more closely align the link description with what has been entered for SASER to explain to the researcher the LASER connection. What do you think? Thank you so much again, Wtmitchell. 8) --VALID REALITY (talk) 00:39, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, this edit of mine was done during a WP:Huggle session, reverting your edit because you had signed it. I haven't really looked at the article beyond that. Edits of wikipedia articles should not be signed. Talk page edits should be signed. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 00:51, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
I see about the signage. I will remember that from now on. Only talk pages. I have been signing every edit since I started here on Wikipedia. I just edited the MASER link with the acronym which explains to the researcher as to why it's in the "See Also" section, so they can see the connection in the acronym description. Does that look alright? Thanks again, Wtmitchell. --VALID REALITY (talk) 01:05, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
I notice that you've changed the MASER entry and someone has changed the media entry on the actress person. Wikipedia could be better laid out to explain to any interested users, and media entertainment disinformation probably isn't in most prospective Wiki users interests. But, thanks for the tips and insights about how to use and edit Wikipedia, Wtmitchell. I really appreciate it. I've read that Wikipedia has a very small staff. Thanks again, Wtmitchell. --VALID REALITY (talk) 01:23, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- VALID REALITY, the Laser article doesn't need a link to MASER in the "See also" section. In general, articles should only be linked in "See also" if a link to them does not already appear somewhere else in the article. "See also" is a place to collect links that really ought to be in the article, but are not. Laser already has a link to Maser, at the point where Masers are discussed in the text.--Srleffler (talk) 03:41, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

- The point of my edit was the placement of the GENREF link, not its status re RS or its content. I came to that article via WP:Huggle, and figured that in that topic area I would let regular editors of the article come to a consensus about those issues. - Wtmitchell, that was not a username that you blocked. I have changed the block to the corresponding length of an IP block. --Bsadowski1 23:23, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, guys. That was probably a block done from WP:Huggle and accepting the block duration suggested there. Response to your reverting of my edit [edit]
If you didn't see anything 'constructive' about my edit and reverted it, why did you undo that reversion?? Charlie the Pig (talk) 00:29, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
- As I recall, I saw this edit in a P:huggle session and my eye picked up on the previous-version pane instead of the edited-version pane. I clicked revere&warn and had gone on to the next article to be reviewed when my thinking caught up with my mouseclicking. I backed up and looked at my revert and saw that I had made a mistake -- your edit was what I had been intending (per WP:GTL). I self-reverted my mistaken revert I tried to revert the warning too (huggle had placed that warning). I thought that I had done that, but I now see that the warning wasn't undone -- apparently there was an edit conflict between Huggle and SuggestBot over that. The warning was a mistake -- feel free to remove it from your talk page (per WP:OWNTALK. Sorry about the confusion. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 01:55, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot [edit]
We are currently running a study on the effects of adding additional information to SuggestBot's suggestions. Participation in the study is voluntary. Should you wish to not participate in the study, or have questions or concerns, you can find contact information on the SuggestBot study page.
IMPORTANT CHANGES: We have modified the selection of articles SuggestBot suggests and altered the design to incorporate more information about the articles, as described in this explanation.
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information.
Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions [edit]
We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:
- Views/Day
- Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
- Quality
- Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.
The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:
- Content
- Is more content needed?
- Headings
- Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
- Images
- Is the number of illustrative images about right?
- Links
- Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
- Sources
- For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly, your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please let us know on SuggestBot's talk page. Regards from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 00:26, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
