Please click here to leave me a new message and I will respond on your talk page. If I have left you a message on your talk page, please respond here. I have better things to do than to stalk your talk page, just as you have more important priorities that to keep watching and/or checking back with mine (unless you don't, in which case I suggest joining your local YMCA or perhaps adopting a puppy) and, frankly, the idea of someone watching my talk page sorta creeps me out. But then again, if you were not inclined to respond here and instead replied on your own talk page, you probably aren't reading this, so the point is moot. If that is the case, hopefully I will get around to checking my past posts to other users' talk pages sooner than later, but most likely I won't for a while. Either way, I'm sure that you are a valued editor and keep up the good work (unless you aren't, then should instead start, um, creating good work or something).

Jerem43[edit]

I noticed that you nominated Jerem43 for administration. While I cannot know what qualifies an individual for Wikipedia administration, I would hope individuals that have recently violated Wikipedia's own policies and guidelines on cavility and courtesy. Please refer to this discussion to inform your opinions. If such behavior and attitude is condoned, I have no issue.

I'm WP:AGF on his attempt to remove a spam link, but I've removed them for the time being to let Jerem43 decide how to proceed. Cheers. youngamerican (wtf?) 19:08, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Just to let you know I have established a check user on this guy, made three days ago when this issue arose. He keeps re-adding a spam link to a company that specializes in franchise management to this article that was originally made by a SPA called User:Franchiseguru. He has been violating rules regarding legal threats while evading the point, his personal attack comments refer to a simple L1 warning I gave him when he started restoring the links I was deleting. I have been trying to keep out of an edit war, and have removed all of the stuff he is claiming as plagiarism.--Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 20:57, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
If there is something to discuss about the article, I welcome further discussion on that article's discussion page. I'm simply here trying to inform User:Youngamerican that he or she may wish to observe current behavior and attitude in dealing with a conflict opinion. When nominating someone to be an administrator, one hopes that they would uphold each and every policy of the site, especially the ones that deal with communication. I believe that the rude and course manner in which you address my concerns is not very becoming. It brings doubts to any ability to an effective administrator. I bring up concerns here, as I don't really care if you continue the nomination or not, I just enjoy all facts being known.
The concerned is doubled when I see that Jarem43 has felt the need to delete my questions and comments from his own talk page, without addressing them. It suggests that he is attempting to hide certain behaviors that he is aware are inappropriate. One then questions what other comments in the past have been removed that might also have reflected poorly.152.16.10.191 (talk) 16:24, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Images[edit]

Hi There

I want to add pictures to some articles. If I can somehow send you the images, can you perhaps upload these images to the wikipedia database, so that I can then add them to the page I'm creating? I've made several contributions to articles in Wiki, but I still don't have auto-confirmed status, and thus can't upload the pictures myself. Can you perhaps give me the rights to upload images?

You recently semi-protected this article. That protection expires tommorow; would you extend it? It's not just him, sadly. It is natural for people who see this template to want to use it, they see it as helping WP. Even the very experienced Pascal666 didi this today. The "from" categories I am guessing he is interpreting it as "born", this is not right. I want to confirm that next. Then he will probably be just as tireless getting it right. As far as I can see they are good faith edits, just a little off true. Rich Farmbrough, 11:55, 2 September 2009 (UTC).

Hello, I just wanted to mention here that you were mentioned at WT:PROD in this matter. I see that on Allen4names' talk page that you said that your changing the article into a redirect should not be seen as contesting the prod. However, you did in fact contest the proposed deletion by your actions; you said that the article deserves to stay, although it should stay as a redirect, not a true article. If you want to comment about this line of reasoning, and/or you wish to support the proposed changes to the proposed deletion policy please give your input on the talk page. WV pages[edit]

Hello-

I have started to edit quite a few WV pages on unincorporated communities/coal towns. I have accumulated a few hundred pictures and I would very much like to know where I can contribute. Most of my pics are from Mercer, Raleigh and Summers County.

My account is new and I will begin to upload pics in a few days. My chief editing concern is to upload a pic of the Raleigh County Flag. I know its creator and as it was created abd approved in 2006, I thought Wikipedia shold have this data for all to see. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bowyerhollow (talkcontribs) 04:08, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Re: Belva, West Virginia[edit]

There's actually a bit of a backstory behind that edit. The GNIS originally listed Belva in Nicholas County, but a few days ago, I submitted an error report based on this map from the West Virginia Department of Transportation, which lists Belva (or its post office, at least) in Fayette County. I figured it was a mistake since I've also noticed that the GNIS tends to have errors; they completely missed Mount Clare, West Virginia until I told them about it a few weeks ago. The GNIS changed the county with this explanation:

"The post office does not always necessarily indicate the central or actual location of a community. In rural areas, especially mountainous areas with linear communities occupying valleys, the post office might be some distance form the center of the community, and especially in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century when the post office moved around various parts of the community. The location of the Belva Post Office is actually (on the WVDOT map) located approximately one-half of a mile south of the main part of Belva, as indicated on the U.S. Geological Survey topographic map. It seems that because of the name placement the compiler made a slight mistake in recording the location on the bend (Nicholas County side) created by where Twentymile Creek flows into Gauley River. Given the location of the post office on the DOT county map and the location of Belva on the topographic map, several miles of this valley might be considered Belva, and in fact the cluster of buildings (the compiler confused as being Belva) just might be considered part of Belva, but we are not including it in the entry. In fact, Dixie (about a mile north of Belva) in GNIS and on the topographic map is listed as being in Nicholas County and Fayette County. Dixie Post Office on the Nicholas WVDOT map is labeled in both Nicholas County and Fayette County (we suspect they mean the community and not the post office, which seems to be a practice on those maps). GNIS has the post office for Dixie only in Nicholas County. So, the linear community of Belva could include the bend in Nicholas County as well, but the topographic map and the WVDOT map does not label it as such.

In summary, we have changed the county for Belva from Nicholas to Fayette."

Based on the location of the Belva post office, part of Belva is definitely in Fayette County. The question is whether the part east of Twentymile Creek (which is definitely part of Nicholas County) is also considered part of Belva. Based on where the WVDOT map of Fayette County places Belva and what you said, it looks like it is, but it could be hard to convince the GNIS of that at this point.

And thanks for the award! It's good to see another editor writing about these communities. TheCatalyst31 ReactionCreation 18:48, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Project tags[edit]

Hi! I always make it a habit to add project tags not only to articles but categories and templates also. For members of the various WP-Project like WP-Wisconsin for example this make it easier to keep track of what categories/template that are available. I wish more editors would take the time to put pproject tags on especially the various county navigational templates. Many thanks-RFD (talk) 16:49, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

keserman here, please READ IN FULL!you seem interested in the protection and upkeep of my article new harbour, newfoundland and labrador,so I would ask you over others.the favor is to watch the page,as you may have been doing, until july 11,2010.until then i will be on a holiday trip and deprived of use of my computer,i would ask that you, between now and then, give it one or two or three spaced checks a few days apart,in case it is vandalized or something,or any major edit not by me,that may not be true information,is left.you said that a geographical location article has notability by default, and you seem interested in its protection and upkeep,so since i would ask someone if i knew the wikipedian probably would do this,so i selected you.no need to respond to this,i leave not 2 hours from now,but leave a message to me on my talk page if you find any vandalization, that i will find when i get back, and please edit out vandalization.i ask because 9 days seem too long to go without checking on the article and such, but i hardly have choice.so even one july 5-8 2010 check will do,but not 9 days unless completely nessecary.thank you for presumably doing this for me,for restoring that previous version after deletion, for your interest in the article and protection and upkeep, and any other way you have helped me.thank you sincerely,Keserman (talk) 16:56, 2 July 2010 (UTC).

i now admit that some information on the page is unreferenced.BUT,i now begin a process, hopefully over by july 20,1010,at least my time zone hahahahaha, but probably over july 16-18.i woul like to discourage major edits,as the process progresses.the process is to,unless temporarily nessecary, only add referenced information, reference existing unreferenced information, and,if sadly nessecary, remove information unreferenceable towards and during the end.please,do not edit it majorly, this gives me information to sort.and ignore me on your watchlist,as my work, well, edits from me show up alot,do they not?and feel free to check out others' edits, but,no offense, during the process, well, best i take care of it.thank you for presumably trying to help maximize the quality of my article.signed Keserman (talk) 15:04, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

while not complete, the referencing project is over,as the rest can be completed at another time,it is not that much.i will,or have had, removed or rather updated the editing notices.about grammar,i admit to a little on the page being wrong, but to my knowlege,it is limited to forgetting of capitalization, and perhaps the odd other mistake.as well,i am not responsible for all of the information on the page, though probably most.i will open it back up from the referencing project,to edits for grammar, probably doing some myself, and maybe you might want to do grammar editing.Keserman (talk) 12:43, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

MSU Interview[edit]

Dear Youngamerican,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. West Virginia communities and CDP's[edit]

Hello-It is an error to remove articles because they are a sub div or part of a CDP. These places were real, they had in many instances their owwn post offices etc etc. As such, they stand as meeting a notability standard. Please dont delete these as I have been to some of these places, and they are NOT neighborhoods and they are NOT a subdivision. I am very very appreciative of the work you have done in WV, its great, I love it. I just recall a time in my life when alot of the places, that others have redirected were real. I will strive to include more data. Coal town guy (talk) 15:57, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

In Putname and Pendleton, the custom behind killing small towns is to name them (fill in the blank town name)Manor, or in Raleigh, the love to use Hollow. I have no wish to argue or rehash, you can delete everything. The deal though is, just please consider, its possible, and probable, that there are people who have watched lots and lots and lots of places die, and get disregarded simply because someone at GNIS or some other entity decided not to hike the hollow that day. HINT, I am one of those people.Coal town guy (talk) 16:40, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Kenny MacAskill[edit]

Hi YoungAmerican

I've been trying to edit the Kenny MacAskill (Scottish Politician) page to accurately reflect his current personal situation and noticed that you added extra protection to the page in August 2009.

I work for Kenny in the Scottish Parliament and want to just remove the line "he is married with 2 sons" from the personal section.

If you could do this, it would be great.

Many thanks, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Toggie88 (talkcontribs) 13:51, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity[edit]

Information icon Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e. as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised, that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions, and that you have not been inactive for a three year period of time). If you remain inactive for a three year period of time, including the present year you have been inactive, you will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA. This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Ropen Page Deletion[edit]

I would like to know why one of the cryptids from Wikipedia has been deleted. And if possible, obtain the information that was contained in the article.
