Welcome - and images[edit]

Welcome, Ytiugibma! I'm glad to hear you're also working on this world-wide project.

Images (which must be your own, or free from copyright issues) must be first uploaded to a common storage area (and given a filename there); you can use this link "Upload file", which also appears in the toolbox area on the left.

After you've done this, you can insert an image with the [[Image:yourfilename]] syntax. For example, if you edit this discussion page you'll see the syntax that shows the picture to the right. There are various options you can insert after the filename: |left/right/center, etc.; see Image and Extended image syntax for more details. Feel free to call me if you have any questions. Boxes[edit]

On some pages, such as Trypsin and Gyroelongated Square Cupola, there are boxes or tables with text and a photo. How are those tables made or modified? What about more complex tables on pages such as Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I experimented with trial and error but remain confused as to how to add, say, text or a picture to one of the tables.

The above help is good for info boxes, but how about tables? I started experimenting with one in my sandbox, and I think I am sort of getting it. But when I look at one such as this one, I am daunted by all the |s and | ||s ad | || |s, not to mention the <br/>s and the !!s and the />s. What is all this stuff. Or, more realistically, where can I learn?

Tables are confusing, I agree. After over a year on wikipedia, I myself still have trouble with them. Help:Table does a pretty decent job with explaning everything though; have you tried that? NuclearWarfare _(Talk) 23:24, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Finding Pages to Edit[edit]

Is there any way to search for pages that have maintenance tags, such as "unreliable sources"? How, for example, did you find my {{Help Me}} tag?
