The Sadhu[edit]

I've posted my reply here. I would suggest that you take a look here to find editors interested in Graphic novels and comics who should provide quick response and help. Adding a "Request for review/Request for comment" on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Comics would ensure that the article recieves the best attention Wikipedia can provide it. If you feel that anything needs to be done and want to bring it to everyone's attention then just add it here.

Best Wishes,

Watford explanation[edit]

Hi there. Cheers for your contribution to the Watford page. Just to explain, I removed the mention of relegation because I thought it overcomplicated the lead, which is just meant to sum up the article. As Watford haven't actually left the Premiership yet, I thought best to keep it out. Cheers, HornetMike 22:39, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA class[edit]

I have nominated the Sadhu for GA class. I thought I should inform you as you put a lot of hard work and completely transformed that article. Freedom skies| talk  17:40, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think the article is ready. The article's length is between 12-16 kb which is very acceptable (the actual troubles begin at 32Kbs). The article does not contain any original research; This section is backed up by the presence of Kali, supported by an image within the article. Furthermore the line containing this particular title itself is called Shakti. The other concepts are supported here and at the official website (bios, perception). I read the article a couple of days ago and visited the relevant websites back then.
Even if the article does not meet GA criteria we'll be provided with the specifics to improve the article according to the scrutiny of a neutral observer.
Freedom skies| talk  18:32, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have watchlisted the article and posted a reply. Freedom skies| talk  04:47, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Wikipedians who dislike the Harry Potter series[edit]

I have speedy deleted a category you created, Category:Wikipedians who dislike the Harry Potter series, as recreation of previously deleted content. While there was not a category with this exact name before, we have discussed a near-identical category and it was deleted here, so this still qualifies for speedy. Generally, all "dislike" user categories are frowned upon and are almost always unanimously deleted via UCFD. Thanks for understanding! VegaDark 19:31, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Silver Surfer[edit]

And many thanks right back at you for the kind words. Yeah, as far as catalog links go, they fall under Wikipedia:External links#Links normally to be avoid. And WikiProject Comics disallows use of solicitation information -- not so much for their commercial nature but because information can change between solicitation and final product. If you see commercial links on other pages, do take them out and put the "avoid" link in the edit summary with an explanation. You do nice work. Silver Surfer userbox[edit]

Hi Zuracech lordum! CleverGuy here. User:Gnome (Bot) has given me two messages about fair use media on my user page, and I see that the bot has given you similar (or possibly exactly the same, I didn't read through yours) messages. There is still a fair use image used in the Silver Surfer userbox. If it's allowed to use in userboxes (and if you want to) I could provide an image created by me (ok, I havn't made it yet, but i can make one). What do you think? Greetings, The Clever Guy (TalkContribs) 18:48, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's finally done. But I don't know what license it has (or should have; and because of that, it's not uploaded yet). It's a fair use character, but the image is created by me (but based on this: MarvelDatabase:Image:Silver Surfer 011.jpg). Any ideas? The Clever Guy (TalkContribs) 14:35, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Finally! Here it is. What do you think about it? (It can still be edited.) The Clever Guy (TalkContribs) 12:29, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Silver Surfer GA Review Result: On Hold[edit]

As nominator, I'm notifying you of this result. Some corrections to be made to this article, as listed on the talk page. Generally good, and well-referenced. Some neutral POV problems. Any questions, just stick them on my talk page :) --Fritzpoll 17:38, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is a bit of advice - I'm not sure you'll get the cleanup taskforce to copy-edit the article in time. I'd suggest asking another editor who you know, who hasn't worked on the article to give it a going over. Please also note that the NPOV problem is still unresolved. Cheers --Fritzpoll 00:18, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Silver Surfer GA Review Outcome[edit]

Hi - I'm sorry to let you know that I have decided to fail the article at this time. Articles are held on hold when only a few corrections are needed that can be quickly addressed. I am no longer sure that this is the case - it is a shame, because a good copy-edit would certainly sort it out, but with only 48 hours left before I'd have to re-review anyway, I don't think it's going to happen.

I know that you've had a rough time trying to get this through GA in the past, but I would encourage you to renominate it once the corrections I have talked about have been made. I will leave some detailed explanation on the talk page - if you have any questions, please put the on my talk page. Sorry again, but good luck --Fritzpoll 18:15, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Silver Surfer Review[edit]

Hi there - my review does not cast any doubts on the reliability of the sources, or the fair use rationales. The mark next to them is "neutral". In the case of the fair use images, I hadn't noticed that they were "non-free" so didn't check it. In the case of reliability, since I failed the article on the bases of references, I couldn't give a positive score to "(citations to reliable sources)" since it is dependent on having sufficient citations to begin with!  :) The references that you have a good, well-documented and verifiable, and hence I did not give a red flag to them, but a neutral one.

I hope this makes things clearer, and apologies for not being clearer in the review to start with! Any further questions to my talk page. --Fritzpoll 16:48, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Studio 60[edit]

Calton, you're breaking your own "rule 1" - And you're breaking rules 3 and 5 -- or at least displaying an inability to follow plain English -- so that makes us even.

I personally put in a lot of effort into those articles...

So?

...and the information present there is certainly a lot more than that available for most other shows (seeWest Wing, How I Met Your Mother, Friends and many others).

If true, that falls under WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS -- namely, it's irrelevant, since individual articles rise or fall on their own. And in the case of the Studio 60 articles, all there is are plot summaries, airdates, and tiny bit of trivia.

I would be more than willing to create articles for the rest (this time I will follow the WP:Episode guidelines).

Why didn't you follow the guidelines in the first place? That last clause certainly implies that you understand that you didn't do so. --Calton | Talk 20:03, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently, he's taken to competely ignore [sic] your comments on his talk page as if you are a vandal.
Nooo, as "trolling", which he has a history -- a long history -- of.
So much for assuming good faith in wikipedia.
That's "Assume good faith in the absence of evidence to the contrary" -- and hey, there's plenty of evidence to the contrary (references -- numerous references -- available on request). It's astonishing the number of people who keep quoting the first three words while ignoring -- inadvertently, I'm sure -- the very important qualifier which follows them. But now you know what they are. --Calton | Talk 14:09, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I hope you don't forget the first three words either.

Never have. Don't try to imply otherwise, you're really not very good at playing "gotcha" games. --Calton | Talk 14:45, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"The Rashtrapati"[edit]

KQA is Karnataka Quiz Association- they are like the "Gods of Trivia". Even though I couldn't find the exact issue of the Modern Times to verify the claim, this question is part of the "stock" trivia questions used in quizzes in our circuit. So unless all the quizmaster(many of whom are really well reputed and who research quite a lot) just blindly copied from the source cited, I believe the information is true.Anyways I'm amazed at your "Comics" acumen.Hats off to you man!Sadashiv n 20:14, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Curr studio60a.jpg)[edit]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:UltimateSilversurferFF43.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:UltimateSilversurferFF43.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:02, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:ClassicXmen01.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:ClassicXmen01.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
