Welcome[edit]

Welcome! Hey I was told to leave a message but have not a clue how- You undid my addition to heatwave interactive and I would like to know why- everything was true. Developers stole $8,000 on a kickstart and also released a game , sold lifetime subscriptions for over $200 each and never updated the game and even laughed about it on video- I can provide links to all of the above- WIKI is supposed to be about truth not just "being nice" - This company is scammers (look at their facebook page, or the facebook page for their game Gods and Heroes and read the comments) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.62.4.125 (talk) 06:26, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

I like the move and the list. List of islands needs some work, maybe should there be a separate list for inhabited and uninhabited Irish coastal islands Zymurgy 19:25, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Dalriada[edit]

Good move back to Dalriada!Bluegold 02:27, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I really do believe that there is a lack of Irish imput into Wikipedia pages concerning Irish and Gaelic culture. With wikipedia fast becoming a world reference source, Irish culture could lose a lot of it's profile in matters Gaelic. Probably the Dalriada page is another example. A vote would be interesting! Statute Law Revision Act[edit]

I created the page Statute Law Revision Act, and all that I had in mind, at the time that I created it, was to have an index of legislation that had the same name, principally for navigational purposes (and, initially, to facilitate article creation). Do you have a source that says that "Statute Law Revision Act" is a term of art in the United Kingdom? Do you have a source that says that the 1948 Act is a "Statute Law Revision Act" within the meaning of that term? I recall reading (albeit in a book published in 1960) something to the effect that a short title is just a label and doesn't enact anything in of itself, so I do not read much into section 6(1). I'll get back to you on that!--Zymurgy (talk) 21:48, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Bukowski Design[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bukowski Design requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 16:15, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Bukowskijulia.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Bukowskijulia.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:05, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

Your rollback request[edit]

Hi Zymurgy, I have granted rollback rights to your account in accordance with your request. Please be aware that rollback should be used to revert vandalism/spam/blatantly unconstructive edits, and that using it to revert anything else (such as by revert-warring or reverting edits you disagree with) can lead to it being removed from your account...sometimes without any warning, depending on the admin who becomes aware of any misuse. If you think an edit should require a reason for reverting, then don't use rollback and instead use a manual edit summary. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 09:00, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

thanks! much appreciated, I will do a bit of practice first ...--Zymurgy (talk) 09:27, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

thanks a bunch CT - I just saw that - decided that as my previous effort to introduce a bit of WikiLove, pacify and move things on was misconstrued so thoroughly, I had better just pass on contributing further at this point in case I made it even worse! --Zymurgy (talk) 22:50, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
These things happen, there is no need to stop contributing. Bleubeatle is a relatively new user and maybe just got the wrong end of the stick here; don't take it to heart. CT Cooper · talk 22:58, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

So was the barnstar's purpose to humiliate me? :-( Bleubeatle (talk) 05:39, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

No of course not Bleu - I saw your point even though I didn't particularly agree with it - I thought that at that time you were handling the situation with good humour despite being very outnumbered so I was hoping to help move things along with a bit of WikiLove. WikiProject Eurovision: Recent changes[edit]

Hello,

Please note that there have been some changes to operations surrounding Eurovision articles, these being that:

  • Template names have now been modernised and/or megred into super-templates, for example Countries in the Eurovision Song Contest has now been merged into Template:Eurovision Song Contest making it even easier to find everything under one template. If you are planning to create a new template, please keep the standardised titles in mind. Other templates have been modernised and a full list of them can be found here.
  • The Eurovision Song Contest and Junior Eurovision Song Contest articles have now been standardised to keep a consitancy throughout the project and to the genral reader too. Skeleton article drafts can be found for Eurovision Song Contest by Year and Junior Eurovision Song Contest by Year.

If you have any questions, please ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision.

You are receiving this message since you are listed as a member of WikiProject Eurovision. If you are no longer interested in contributing to Eurovision articles, please remove your username from this page.

Response to Slavoj Žižek Revision[edit]

--72.94.34.162 (talk) 20:24, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi Zymurgy. Re your message (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:72.94.34.162&diff=cur), I reverted the Slavoj Žižek page to an earlier edit to revert a vandalistic edit (a user by the name of Sandokant has been continually adding uncited aspersions to the introductory text and throughout the article). I thought I had left a description of the change, but I apologize if it was missing. Either way, the vandalism seems to have been removed from the current version of the page, and Sandokant seems to have been dealt with by an admin, so all's well that ends well.

Thanks for that - Žižek does revel in occasional provocative comments which could invite controversy but as long as aspersions are cited and notable I suppose there can be room for them. Good luck with your editing. --Zymurgy (talk) 21:37, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

Your revert on LeAnn Rimes Discography[edit]

The edits I did fixed the page the revert you did messed it back up please do not revert again. Thanks! 184.58.3.213 (talk) 22:57, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

Eg. "How Do I Live" is a non-album single as the song was never released on an album until 2003 on her Greatest Hits, the extended mix of the song however was released on an album but the extended mix is not the same thing. Several sources can point that "What Have I Done" was released as an album from Spitfire as the lead single. "Borrowed" is not the lead single and "What Have I Done" is not a promotional single and I have sourced that. Also there is no need for 2 Promotional single sections wouldn't you agree? 184.58.3.213 (talk) 23:01, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

Astrology[edit]

I'm not sure if this is the correct way to contact you, so I'm sorry if my question is misplaced.

My question pertains to your denying of my demand of a citation to this paragraph on the Astrology page: "At the end of the 17th century, new scientific concepts in astronomy (such as heliocentrism) called astrology into question, and subsequent controlled studies failed to confirm its predictive value. Astrology thus lost its academic and theoretical standing."

I asked for a source that proves the fact that astrology lost its academic standing. Also, links for the controlled studies would be cool. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.32.46.131 (talk) 01:26, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks! I agree that this passage is not well written, whoever wrote it, but the point that astrology lacks theoretical standing does not require a citation. Th\at said, there is probably a way to re write to make this clear without making points that you might argue need a citation. --Zymurgy (talk) 01:30, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I see it - either provide citation that it lost its academic standing, or delete the "academic and" part. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.32.46.131 (talk) 01:38, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

You're correct - apologies I misread your edit--Zymurgy (talk) 23:02, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

Hey Zymurgy, pleased to meet you! Just read your message. I'd been trying to add links partly as there was a message on a page I'd made about Amirite which said "This article is an orphan. Please introduce links to this page from related articles", which I did. If I can't link to it from the Social Media article (it's a social media website), is there any chance that you could give me some tips as to what articles I can link to it from?. Apologies if I made a bad call on that one. Oh - you may have to delete them from that page again though. Afraid I saw they'd been deleted prior to reading your message, thought it might be for adding an Internal Link category when there was another category name which could have been used for that purpose instead! Thanks for your time! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Craddock1 (talkcontribs) 00:29, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Nickelback album pages need big edits espicially for a big band[edit]

I was wondering if I could edit the Nickelback albums pages because they do not have alot of details in them. Nickelback are a mainstream band and we need somebody who could make it larger with more details.

Hi Zymurgy! Marion Cotillard related[edit]

Hi! You said I could leave you a message here (is this how it's done? I'm very new in editing, sorry!). In the message you told me that you had undone a contribution in Marion Cotillard's page and I wanted to tell you that it's fine. I really didn't know if that should be added as an award. I mean, it's a real award given by a real group of film critics (http://awfj.org/eda-awards/2012-awfj-eda-award-nominees/), but it's true that some of their awards are... "original". If you think that it was not necessary, then it's ok.

Thanks for the advise, bye :)

PS: sorry for my english, I'm Spanish.

Vandalism[edit]

Are you sure you know what you are doing? Why is vandalism to nominate an article to be checked for its neutrality? Why don't you participate in the discussion I started in the talk page?--Motorola12 (talk) 01:23, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

It's all been gone through already - see the top of the talk page. No need to re-invent the wheel. Happy new year! --Zymurgy (talk) 01:28, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
Without commenting on the appropriateness of the actual edit, Motorola is correct that it wasn't vandalism. Please be careful with that word; see WP:VAND. Motorola's edits were closer to edit warring, so a warning for that may have been more appropriate. I'd probably have left him without a warning for an edit or two, myself, but I guess that's a matter of personal approach.   — Jess· Δ 02:07, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks but the article itself makes clear that the category you wanted to add was not established as fact. Happy new year! --Zymurgy (talk) 01:52, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Prod tags[edit]

I see you have flagged several edits as WP:VAND on WP:AIV for removal of {{prod}} tags. Removal of prod tags is specifically not vandalism. If an article which had a prod tag has the tag removed, and you consider that the article still should be deleted, please enter the article into the deletion process. List of wrestling promotions in Australia[edit]

This list is not notable and the redirect must stay. Thank you. 58.164.105.136 (talk) 06:28, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Hello there. I have noted that you have tried to maintain this list and the above IP and one other has been reverting it to redirect. There appears to be a consensus against the retaining of the list as indicated by previous AfD's of individual promotions such as PCW and AWF, and a comment on the talk page of Professional wrestling in Australia confirming this consensus without a challenge. With this in mind I would suggest that on the talk page of the article I linked you start a new section (or continue with the one commented on in 2008 by Justa Punk - who I do note has been banned by the community) and provide proof of notability in order to change the consensus. Disambiguation link notification for April 21[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ulysses (1967 film), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Tony Doyle and Frank Bailey (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

riverrun, past Eve and Adam's[edit]

Hi Zymurgy.
Message sent.
BTW, I would have added better refs for the Ulysses character articles when starting 'em, but that's up to you. Face-smile.svg
That said, I'm off to encounter for the millionth time the reality of experience and to forge in the smithy of my soul the uncreated conscience of my race improvements to Wikipedia's coverage of Australian women cricketers. Or whatever it is I do here.
Pete AU aka --Shirt58 (talk) 11:33, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

Good man, thanks Pete. Point taken re references, always a balance between getting a page up and running versus fleshing it out. I tend to favour the former in cases of conflict but I appreciate it may generate work by way of fending off tagging etc. Happy Easter! --Zymurgy (talk) 11:48, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

Notability and fictional characters[edit]

You've recently created a large number of fictional character stubs, that may not meet Wikipedia's General Notability Guidelines, and may be susceptible to merging in the absence of reliable, non-trivial sources independent of the book. Please see WP:BKD for additional notability guidelines on book characters and other derivative articles. Aside from the principal characters of Ulysses, the descriptions of all secondary characters might better be located at List of Ulysses characters. Cheers, --Animalparty-- (talk) 18:02, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 28[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kitty Ricketts, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lynch (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Deletion discussion about Gerty MacDowell[edit]

Hello, Zymurgy,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Gerty MacDowell should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gerty MacDowell .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Longwayround (talk) 17:49, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of The Citizen (character)[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article The Citizen (character) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Original research and no claim to significance

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. CorporateM (Talk) 14:59, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject Eurovision - consensus discussion[edit]

There is a discussion regarding colour coding on articles taking place on the project talk page that requires input from as many project members as possible. Thank you, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:16, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article The Citizen (character) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Citizen (character) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. CorporateM (Talk) 14:08, 2 June 2014 (UTC)

The "deletes" are piling up - it's going to die at this rate, which would be a shame. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 19:34, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
deletion is not just up to a majority vote as such. Anyway stay vigilant! I agree with you, it would be a shame.--Zymurgy (talk) 03:31, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
It has been deleted despite the vote - I don't know how to undo a deletion but I'm looking into it. It's baloney. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 13:29, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
