Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva is the younger daughter of Uzbek President Islam Karimov.

In January 2008 she was appointed to her current role as Uzbekistan's Permanent Representative to UNESCO. Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva was born in 1978.

She earned bachelor's and master's degrees in International Law from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent, and later received a doctorate degree in Psychology from Tashkent State University.

Karimova-Tillyaeva is renowned in her home country, Uzbekistan, for her role in promoting education and sports as well as championing the rights of children while running two major charity foundations.

The Sen Yolgiz Emassan (You are not alone) charity foundation was set up by Karimova-Tillyaeva in 2003. The charity provides support for children brought up in orphanages and disadvantaged families, with special focus on providing children with an opportunity to pursue their further education at colleges and universities.

The National centre for the social adaptation of children established by Karimova-Tillyaeva in 2004 provides financial, educational as well as medical support to children with disabilities.

In early 2000s Karimova-Tillyaeva launched nationwide reforms to improve the situation in orphanages across Uzbekistan, which resulted in many children being offered better opportunities for their development.

In 2009 Karimova-Tillyaeva set up the Uzbekistan 2020 foundation to facilitate cultural and intellectual exchange between the countries of Western Europe and Uzbekistan, as well as promote cultural tourism to Uzbekistan.

In 2010 she was elected honorary president of the Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU).
