Vagbhata

Vagbhata is one of the three classic writers of ayurveda, along with Charaka and Sushruta, who wrote the Ashtanga Sangraha and the Ashtanga Hridaya Samhita. He is thought to have lived in the 7th century, after the other two, and his writings often quote them.
He is believed to be a Buddhist monk and also the texts are said to be written while his stay in Thiruvizha Viharam (presently a Shiva Temple, near cherthala, alapuzha District in Kerala).
