[edit] Team History

The team was founded in 1954 as EV Bruneck MAK. Their first season in the B series took place in 1966. They won the championship in the 1967-68 and 1968-69 seasons. However their two victories were not enough to allow them to move up to Series A because their stadium was nothing but an open space, not suitable for the top series. On their third attempt however, they moved up: they won the 1971-72 championship B and in the 1972-73 season they played in series A for the first time. For nearly 30 years in a row the Wolves remained in Series A. The best results they achieved were second in the 1981-82 season and the third in 1980-81.

Before the start of the 2001-02 season the Wolves were forced to leave Series A for financial reasons, but the reform of the championships in the 2003-04 season allowed them to returnr. In 2008 the company name was changed again to the current HC Val Pusteria, the name of the stadium became Leitner Solar Arena. In 2010 the name changed yet again, the team becoming HC Val Pusteria Wolves.[1]
