Valapady taluk

Valapady taluk is a taluk of Salem district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The headquarters of the taluk is the town of Valapady.

Population

According to the 2001 census, the taluk of Valapady had a population of 171,857 with 87,308 males and 84,549 females. There were 968 women for every 1000 men. The taluk had a literacy rate of 65.27. The total number of households was 42,302 people.
