The Paraíba Valley (Portuguese: Vale do Paraíba) is located in the eastern part of the state of São Paulo along the rodovia Presidente Dutra (BR-101), between Rio De Janeiro and São Paulo.
The region forms the hydrographical basin of Paraíba do Sul River, that flows down to Rio De Janeiro.
This region includes the highly developed industrial park and the space station.[citation needed] Its cities of the valley are São José dos Campos, Taubaté, Jacareí, Lorena, Pindamonhangaba, Cruzeiro and Guaratinguetá.
