Vasile Puşcaş (b. Surduc, July 8, 1952) is a Romanian politician, diplomat and International Relations professor.

During 2000-2004 he was the Romanian Chief Negotiator with the European Union,[1] and he is considered by many[who?] "responsible" for Romania's accession to the EU. Currently, he is a member of the Romanian Parliament and a member of the PSD - Social-Democratic Party in Romania. He is highly appreciated both in Romanian political circles and the European ones.[citation needed]
Puşcaş is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy. [2]
