Vénissieux (Vènissiœx in the Lyonnais dialect of Arpitan language) is a commune in the Rhône department in eastern France.

It is the second-largest suburb of the city of Lyon, and is adjacent to the southeast. It is connected to Lyon's Métro (underground or subway) system on the ligne D ("line D"). There is also the Tramway Line 4 who connects Venissieux to Lyon 8th arrondissement
