[edit] History
[edit] Formation
Versus The World formed in the back of The Ataris old record store ("Down On Haley"). Prior to being called Versus The World, Mike Davenport and Donald Spence did a few acoustic shows under the band name "Pencapchew" to fill time between their current projects. Trevor Lewis Mathias of Antifreeze is the original drummer of the band whereas Casey Cress bands new guitarist. In the summer of 2006 the band toured Europe with No Use For A Name. They have also made a music video for one of their song "Is There No End.
[edit] Recent
In August 2010, VTW announced their return, with new members Chris Flippin of Lagwagon and Bryan Charlson of Spence's side band Crooks & Liars. They stated they were set to work on a new EP with an accompanying tour to follow.
In 2011 it was stated that the EP had been delayed, as enough songs had been written to release a full length album instead.
On July 30th, a new song "In Fear of Finale" was released. It is the first new material from the band since the song "Blue and Cold" was featured on the European release of the self-titled album, as well as a Christmas compilation from later the same year. Later, on September 13th, the band posted an acoustic preview of another song, titled "A Love Song for Amsterdam". The band has stated that the album is near completion and due for release at the beginning of 2012, with worldwide touring planned to promote it.
[edit] Trivia
Their song 'Forgive Me is featured on WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 videogame.
