[edit] Background

The publication of Vichinthanam started in light of the tension within the Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen during early 1990s, when the official weekly "Shabab" was almost with the second faction of Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen. It is started as an independent weekly discussing the organisational issues only and later on Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen approved Vichinthanam as an official publication. The timely introduction of this weekly has a crucial role in supporting the official faction of Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen during the tension time in 1991 and 1992.
