Victor is a city in Poweshiek and Iowa Counties in the U.S. state of Iowa. The population was 893 in the 2010 census, a decline from the 952 population in the 2000 census.[1][2]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.2 km²).None of the area is covered with water.

The 2010 census recorded a population of 893 in the city, with a population density of 1,790/sq mi (690/km2). There were 430 housing units, of which 392 were occupied.[1]

The racial makeup of the city in the 2010 census was 98.1% White American, 0.1% African American, 0.0% Native Americans in the United States, 0.3% Asian American, 0.0% Native Hawaiians or Pacific Islander American, 1.3% other races and 0.1% were from two or more races. Of those 1.7% were Hispanic and Latino Americans. [4]

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 952 people, 400 households, and 280 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,010.6 people per square mile (782.1/km²). There were 420 housing units at an average density of 887.0 per square mile (345.0/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.84% White, 0.21% African American, 0.53% Asian, 0.11% from other races, and 0.32% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.21% of the population.

There were 400 households out of which 31.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.5% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.0% were non-families. 27.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.87.

In the city the population was spread out with 25.4% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 24.8% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 20.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 93.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.8 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $38,542, and the median income for a family was $47,841. Males had a median income of $33,021 versus $22,000 for females. The per capita income for the city was $18,837. About 4.1% of families and 7.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 12.0% of those under age 18 and 6.7% of those age 65 or over.
