WFPA-CA is a low power television station that broadcasts UniMás programs in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, broadcasting on channel 28. The station is owned and operated by Univision.

The station was originally a repeater of New York City's Univision station, WXTV. It was first licensed as a translator, W35AB, operating on channel 35. After WYBE was granted a license to operate a full-power station on 35, the translator moved to channel 28 and was ultimately relicensed as a low-power station, WXTV-LP. In 2002 Univision acquired WUVP, channel 65, and moved its programming there. Channel 28 began to air programming from the then-new TeleFutura network, and its call letters were changed to WFPA-CA.

In June 2006, the station was added to Philadelphia area Comcast systems on Channel 251. The station is also carried on WUVP-TV's digital channel 66.2 (which is listed via simulation at 65-2). WFPA is also available to DirecTV customers as part of the Philadelphia local channel package.

Trivia [edit]

In some areas of the market, especially north of Philadelphia, WFPA's signal causes some reception issues with the DTV signal of New York's WNBC-TV, which broadcasts its digital signal on channel 28.
