WPLA (1670 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Sports and news format. Licensed to Dry Branch, Georgia, USA, the station serves the Macon area during the day and the southeast United States at night. The station is currently owned by Clear Channel Communications.[1]

Fox Sports 1670 is the home of the Bill Shanks Show from 3-6 pm every weekday. Shanks is joined by producer Russ Brown, update anchor Charles Olson, and occasionally Skip Seda. The program focuses on state sports, with the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Atlanta Hawks the main focus.

WPLA also is the flagship station for Mercer University Bears Basketball.

The station was assigned the call letters WAXP on 1998-03-06. On 1998-07-01, the station changed its call sign to WNML-FM, on 1999-03-01 to WRNC, on 2003-11-17 to WMWR, on 2006-02-21 to WVVM, on 2009-03-02 to WFSM, and on 2010-10-14 to the current WPLA.[2]
