Global Warning was a professional wrestling international pay-per-view held by World Wrestling Entertainment and which took place at the Colonial Stadium in Melbourne, Australia on the 10th of August 2002. The event was later released on DVD to Australia and several other countries.[1][2][3]

The event was attended by a then venue record attendance of 56,734 which was also the WWE's second highest paid attendance of 2002 behind WrestleMania X8 which was held at the Skydome in Toronto, Canada and attracted 68,237 fans. To date this is the only WWE PPV which has been held in Australia and also the only one held in the Southern Hemisphere.

Background[edit]

The main event heading into the event was between the WWE Undisputed Champion The Rock and his two challengers Triple H and Brock Lesnar. Hulk Hogan was originally meant to appear in the main event instead of Brock Lesnar but pulled out of the event days before.
