WZIP (88.1 FM) — branded Z88 — is a college pop/contemporary hit radio (CHR) radio station licensed to Akron, Ohio and owned by the The University of Akron. WZIP also airs a block of rock music nightly from 7pm to 4am.[2][3]

The station originally went on the air with the callsign WAUP. The callsign was changed to WZIP-FM on June 5, 1989. On October 17, 1989, the station changed its call sign to the current WZIP.[4]
