The Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 is a municipal district in eastern Alberta, Canada.

It is located in Census Division 7. The seat of the municipality is set in the Town of Wainwright. The district is bisected north-south by the Buffalo Trail and east-west by the Poundmaker Trail.

The population of the Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 according to its 2007 municipal census is 4,113.[3]

In 2006, the Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 had a population of 3,558 living in 1,452 dwellings, a 15.9% decrease from 2001. The municipal district has a land area of 4,154.74 km2 (1,604.15 sq mi) and a population density of 0.9 /km2 (2.3 /sq mi).[2]

In 2001, the municipal district had a population of 4,231 in 1,364 dwellings, a 4.6% increase from 1996. On a surface of 4,154.60 km² it had a density of 1 inhabitant/km².[4]
