Walking in the Air is the fourth single by Finnish symphonic power metal band Nightwish, released as the third single from the album Oceanborn, The original version was performed by Peter Auty for The Snowman, with lyrics and music by Howard Blake.[1]
The song was played live between 1999 and 2003, but wasn't played during the Once Upon a Tour; in September 19, 2009, Nightwish performed Walking in the Air with the current frontwoman, Anette Olzon,[2] and with the French musician Troy Donockley playing the Uilleann Pipes, in this song, Marco and Emppu played two classis guitars.
The single was certified with Gold Disc in Finland with more than 5.000 sold copies, and it reached the number-one spot in the Finnish Official Single charts.[3]
