Washington Harbour
Washington Harbour is a Class-A mixed-use development along the Potomac River on the Georgetown waterfront in Washington, D.C. Designed by Arthur Cotton Moore and constructed in 1986, the complex consists of two towers housing luxury condominiums, offices, shops and restaurants, as well as on-site underground parking. It is located on K Street, NW, between 30th and 31st Streets, next door to the House of Sweden building housing the embassies of Sweden, Liechtenstein, and Iceland. Major tenants include the law firms of Foley & Lardner and Kelley Drye & Warren.
The property is currently owned by MRP Realty and Rockpoint Group LLC, having been purchased from Prudential Real Estate Investors in 2010. Previous owners include Crescent Real Estate Equities and Shorenstein.[1][2]
The complex is notable for its relatively low-situated construction, relative to the waterline of the Potomac River, and includes a system of floodgates designed to be raised when river conditions dictate. On April 17th, 2011, flooding of the lower level restaurant and parking sections of the complex occurred when the floodgates were not fully raised, causing extensive damage.[3]
