Watarai (度会郡 Watarai-gun) is a district located in Mie Prefecture. As of September 1, 2008, the district has an estimated Population of 49,804 and a Density of 76.3 persons/km². The total area is 652.42 km².
The district contains 4 towns.
- Tamaki (玉城町; Tamaki-chō)
- Watarai (度会町; Watarai-chō)
- Taiki (大紀町; Taiki-chō)
- Minamiise (南伊勢町; Minamiise-chō)

- February 14 - The towns of Kisei and Ōmiya and the village of Ōuchiyama merged to form the new town of Taiki.(7 towns, 1 village)
- October 1 -The towns of Nansei and Nantō merged to form the new town of Minamiise.(6 towns, 1 village)
- November 1 - The towns of Futami and Obata, and village of Misono merged with the old city of Ise to form the new city of Ise.(4 towns)
