The song chronicles the adventure of the narrator to a small town in Rind County, Georgia where an annual watermelon festival is held. The featured item at this festival is red wine made from the watermelons grown within the town. The mayor of the town urges people to abide by the law and asks them not to drive if they have been drinking; instead, they should do a dance called "The Watermelon Crawl."

Although the song describes a fictitious county, it likely refers to the Watermelon Festival[2] in Crisp County, Georgia.

[edit] Music video

The music video was directed by Michael Merriman and features Byrd stopping his tour bus in the Georgia town for the watermelon festival. The video was recorded in McEwen, Tennessee, at the Irish Picnic Fairgrounds.
