[edit] Laptop program
WHS first started their own laptop program beginning with the 2003-2004 school year. Starting in 2006, WHS became part of the state-sponsored Classroom Connections project, where it was among 20 selected schools in the state to receive funding for laptops for students as well as tablet computers for teachers. As WHS already had laptops for three years prior to becoming part of the state project, new laptops were issued to all students and teachers. Now in 2009-2010, Watertown has received new Apple MAC OS X laptops.
[edit] Notable alumni
- Judge Sylvia Bacon of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, considered by Presidents Nixon and Reagan for a possible appointment to the Supreme Court of the United States, attended Watertown High School in the late 1940s.
[edit] Competitive Speech Activities
WHS has a very successful high school debate program. The WHS program was among the first one hundred chartered squads in the National Forensics League.
