[edit] History
Wattleglen station opened on 25 June 1912 as Balee, and was renamed Wattleglen on 14 August 1922.[2][3]
Although the railway station signage (see the photo in this article) and the operator's public time tables[4] have and continue to give the name of the station as two words, sources such as VicNames and the operator's internal working time tables give the official spelling of the station as Wattleglen.[5] It is unclear why the suburb was made two words when the Post Office was renamed from Diamond Creek Upper on 1 November 1922, when the station was renamed as one word two and a half months earlier.
