Wave 102 is a radio station broadcasting to the city of Dundee in Scotland.
The station broadcasts a mixed music format and broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
When the station first launched it was called Discovery 102, since Dundee is known as the City of Discovery after the RRS Discovery, which is docked there. The Wave 102 brand was born when The Discovery Channel forced it to change the name, claiming that people would mistakenly associate it with the network.
Dundee is also the city where game developers Rockstar North was founded. The developers' Scottish (and Dundonian) roots are shown in various in-jokes/tributes in the game Grand Theft Auto series. One such Dundee specific tribute is where one of the in-game radio stations in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was named Wave 103.
On 15 May 2008 Adam Findlay and his company New Wave Media became the new owners of Wave 102.
