Weligton Robson Pena de Oliveira (born August 26, 1979 in Fernandópolis), simply Weligton, is a Brazilian footballer who currently plays for Málaga CF, as a central defender.

[edit] Football career

Weligton started his professional career with Paraná Clube, joining Portugal's F.C. Penafiel on August 13, 2003, with the club then in the second level.[1] After helping it achieve promotion, he was an automatic first-choice for a further two seasons, with relegation in 2005–06.

Subsequently, Weligton signed with Grasshopper-Club Zürich. After just one season, he was loaned to Spanish second division's Málaga CF, and helped in another career promotion. On 18 June 2008, the move was made permanent, as he signed a four-year contract with the Andalusia outfit.

Weligton scored his first goal for Málaga on May 17, 2009 on match against Sporting de Gijón, in a 1–2 away loss.
