West Frisia is a historical area now in the Netherlands, including areas/ provinces such as South Holland, North Holland, Friesland and the Noordoostpolder.

In Dutch, rather than denoting the above area, the term West-Friesland is normally used to refer to a region in North-Holland as opposed to the actual province of Friesland on the eastern side of the Vlie.
