Westerville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Custer County, Nebraska. It is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 183 and Nebraska Highway 70.


Westerville was named for James Westervelt, a local storekeeper.[1] The Westerville poat office was established in 1882.[2] County fairs were held in Westerville in 1883 and 1884.[3]
