James Whiteside Elementary School in Richmond, British Columbia is an elementary school. Because the school has a French immersion program, the full bilingual name of the school is École Élémentaire James Whiteside Elementary School. The school opened in 1886. It is a three track school which means it has English, Early French Immersion(EFI),starting from Kindergarten and Late French Immersion(LFI), starting from grade 6.
It is located at 9282 Williams Road. Their official mascot and logo is the Wolf, their sports team is known as the "Whiteside Wolves". The official logo had previously been the "Wings" (A navy blue capital "W" with a pair of white wings attached to both sides over a light blue underlay). As of 2008, the current school principal is Ms.Sakata. On April 13, 2009, a fire broke out in the boiler room, causing the school to be closed for repairs. The cause of the fire is believed to be arson.[1]
