Wielbark [ˈvjɛlbark] (German:
Willenberg (help·info)) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Malbork, within Malbork County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south-west of Malbork (on the road towards Sztum), and is 48 km (30 mi) south-east of the regional capital Gdańsk. The village has a population of 103.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (within [{East Prussia]]).
In 1873, a cemetery of the ancient Braunswalde-Willenberg-Kultur (after 1945 also referred to as Wielbark culture) was discovered not far from the village Braunswalde near Willenberg.
The place is not to be confused with Wielbark, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, also until 1945 called Willenberg (and also in East Prussia).
