On-wiki tutorials[edit]

Templates[edit]

User Template with a sandbox link[edit]

{{UserSand}} - example (talk · contribs · sand)

For marking student articles[edit]

  • {{WAP assignment}} - Generic assignment template for courses working with the ambassador program.
  • Example usage:

{{WAP assignment|project=WikiProject United States Public Policy|course=Wikipedia:WikiProject United States Public Policy/Courses/Spring 2011/Arab Media (Adel Iskandar)|university=Georgetown University|term=2011 Spring}}

  • Result:
  • {{New user article}} - for marking new articles soon after they are created, to give students a chance to figure things out before other editors swoop in and bite them.

For welcoming students[edit]

  • {{Ambassador welcome}} - a welcome template that Online Ambassadors for the United States Education Program should use to add to students in their courses' talk pages. Be sure to substitute it: {{subst:Ambassador welcome}}.
  • {{WAP student}} - This is for putting on students' userpages (or talk pages). It provides links to the course page, course talk page, mentor contact links, and an IRC link. See documentation for details on usage.

Awards[edit]

  • {{Wikipedia Ambassador Barnstar}} - a barnstar for thanking ambassadors for good work. Use it liberally!
  • {{The WikiPen}} - an award to recognize students for excellent work. Use it whenever you see great things from a student, at any stage of the process — whether a great outline, a great critique of an existing article, a great DYK submission, or a great final version of their article.
