David Niven was quite an extraordinary individual; a talented actor who won an Oscar and a BAFTA, a best-selling author of fiction and non-fiction and a decorated war hero who returned to the UK at the start of the Second World War, despite being advised by the government to stay where he was. He appeared in comedies, dramas, costume work and war films: in all of them he was a suave and debonair character, which matched his character in his private life too. This list has been separated from the main Niven article, and its scope increased to include his extensive television and radio work. SchroCat (talk) 09:07, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Quick comment – This April 1952 issue of Billboard mentions an LP release by Niven entitled The Second Elizabeth, while an issue of Gramophone mentions another release entitled The Magic Orchestra. I've seen similar lists for Terry-Thomas and Peter Sellers incorporate musical releases, so perhaps these could be included in the Niven list? Just a thought.   • "He made his screen debut as an uncredited extra in the film There Goes the Bride: he went on to appear in nearly a hundred films, the last of which being Curse of the Pink Panther." I would drop the colon after "Bride" and make this into two sentences.

  • In the radio and television charts the heading of "Channel" should be changed to "Network".

  • In the television section is "Light's Diamond Jubilee: "The Girls in Their Summer Dresses" (October 10, 1964), ABC, CBS, NBC and DuMont". No such series is listed in the 1964-65 TV schedule, no such series is listed on IMDb, and DuMont went out of business in 1956! Jimknut (talk) 20:26, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've added the stars, but I'm not too convinced of the Film Registry. This list is about Niven and the lead is a very brief summary of the individuals and his career. The registry info is more about the teamwork involved (or a few hundred people) in putting together the film, rather than just being of Niven. Standardise images: either all upright or not. You have two different sizes here.

  • Golden Globe will need to be linked on first mention just above.
  • Bearing in mind we are talking about an actor, the line "...as well as acting as producer on some editions" makes it appear that he was doing just that but on radio. Suggest: "In the latter medium he appeared frequently in the Four Star Playhouse series, as well as producing some editions."

  • "virulent form of motor neurone disease." – I would have thought motor neurones disease was virulent as it is.
