  • I realize it might not get support because the species is still around, but I think this picture is stunning. ceranthor 02:44, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: I do quite like it, and I've nominated similar pictures myself. Could we perhaps improve the information on the image page? A full citation for the source, and, if possible, an explanation of what kind of illustration this is- painting? J Milburn (talk) 22:52, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Looks like a lithograph to me. Adam Cuerden (talk) 00:17, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
      • The source itself isn't very clear, but I'm fairly certain it's a lithograph and will update the caption as such. ceranthor 23:04, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak support. It's not perfect, and this is a living and not-so-rare species, but it's a great picture, and the EV is decent. J Milburn (talk) 23:30, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support we can do a D&R if we get something better. --Pine 19:49, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Question How do we know that the drawing is anatomically accurate? I've replaced a few drawings of similar age in other articles recently, and they are way off, in some cases. JJ Harrison (talk) 08:16, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Good question. The much more recent drawing at http://tolweb.org/Loligo_forbesii and a photo at http://www.megabook.ru/DescriptionImage.asp?MID=447561&AID=637007 which to me as a layman seem consistent with what's shown in the drawing here. --Pine 18:35, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
