In Wikipedia articles, a specificity tag is a fixit tag for cases where statements and the terms used therein are too general, and thus need to be specified.

Often times a particular term may be used in a way which asserts the generality of the term, and thus represents a POV. For example the statement "Americans agree with George W. Bush" may not be incorrect for the given context, but in many cases this statement would not be said to be a correct representation of the opinion of all Americans. (Note that even the term "America" and "Americans" is often deprecated to the more specific "United States" or "U.S. public opinion").
