Template:Latitude, Template:Longitude[edit]

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the template below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the template's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the discussion was Delete. From my discussions with the template creator, these templates were created to facilitate the creation of {{Location map2}}, which has been deleted and subsequently merged with {{Location map}}. Since these templates were not used in the merge, it appears they are now deletable under CSD criteria T3. I am happy to reopen this discussion if there are any objections. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 22:19, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Latitude (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Template:Longitude (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Redundant to {{decdeg}}. Transcluded by Template:Location map2 discussed below.  –droll [chat] 06:34, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. {{decdeg}} do not contains parameters lat and long, which are considered in case transcluding in other templates.--Амба (talk) 12:25, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as redundant to {{decdeg}}. Although the method of calling this template may be different, I see nothing here that isn't already available in other coordinate processing templates. This template is now orphaned after the deletion of {{location map2}}. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 15:31, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Campaignbox only listing one battle - useless because, on the article Battle of Belmont, the one link on the template is unclickable anyway. Bart133 t c @ 21:36, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete—per nom. This isn't useful at all. Imzadi 1979  06:40, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Location map2 (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Redundant fork of {{Location map}}. If any algorithm changes are needed, they should be developed in user-space, or a sandbox, then applied to the original, by consensus. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 19:19, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Some templates can't work in user namespace. Sandbox can't work if 2 or more users in the same time begin different edits. Templates need in testing and debugging. It is work. What You need else?--Амба (talk) 23:19, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • Sandboxes work perfectly well for everyone else. You can always create /sandbox2 or event /sandbox-Амба
  • Delete Redundant. Also see {{Latitude}} and {{Longitude}}.  –droll [chat] 06:13, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete – use {{Location map}} and discuss modifications by consensus rather than unilaterally introducing a parallel template. Occuli (talk) 12:46, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't you guys want location maps with other projections than equirectangular? Uwe Dedering (talk) 17:15, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sandboxery form 2008, great but unused and redundant to the transcluded templates. Rich Farmbrough, 13:37, 17 July 2010 (UTC).[reply]
