Template:Rough Guide world music albums (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Even if articles for all these albums existed, it seems a link to a list in a "see also" section would work best in this case. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 21:32, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment I was not notified of this on my talk page. Could you please be more clear on your comment "even if articles for all these albums existed"? Project is slightly more than a week old; I need to better understand that part of your argument before defending this template. Thanks. PhnomPencil (talk) 15:30, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Due to the size and scope of the navbox, it would simply be better to create a list of Rough Guide world music albums and each of the individual articles can link to that in a "see also" section. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 22:25, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Two Questions:
1. The albums will slowly fill out. Can the template be split into individual years? I like the "browsability" the NavBox offers.
2. If I make a list, can I include the album cover... something like this?
Name Release date Length Notes Cover
The Rough Guide to the Music of Senegal xx/xx/xxxx 130:06 blah blah 100px
Well, not this exactly... I'll figure out the individual columns when the time comes... but is it possible to include non-free images in a list? Should I add something to their license sections? Thanks for your help; this is my first time working with non-free images. PhnomPencil (talk) 10:04, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It's possible that as the albums fill out, a navbox will become more practical, but I am going to suggest making the list, first, ironing out these things on that talk page. As the list is maintained and filled out, a need may eventually arise for the template to be undeleted or remade. About non-free images, I wouldn't add them unless consensus is gained. I doubt that list articles should use them, since the reasoning involved would be similar to that applied to categories, but I may have misunderstood... —PC-XT+ 19:27, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Comment OK I've made the list (doesn't look pretty yet; I'll convert it to a table soon) and individual year templates which I'm now going to add to the articles... you can delete this template, it's fine. PhnomPencil (talk) 20:22, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You should probably wait until this discussion ends before creating a bunch of individual navboxes by year (also, create the articles then create the templates). There is no deadline, so create the articles for the albums first, then do what you will that may aid in navigation amongst those articles.
OK... when you nominate the individual year templates for deletion please notify me on my talk page (please sign the notice with four tildes [~]). PhnomPencil (talk) 06:34, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
