Userboxes to indicate levels of knowledge of writing systems are mainly handled by Template:User iso15924.

For writing systems codes the ISO 15924 standard is used. See also the List of ISO 15924 codes.

For those writing systems that are not well covered by ISO 15924 (most prominent IPA) see below.
