Chinese article statistics

This list is automatically updated every night around 3 AM (UTC)

The peer review department of the China WikiProject conducts peer review of articles on request. The primary objective is to encourage better articles by having contributors who may not have worked on articles to examine them and provide ideas for further improvement.

The peer review process is highly flexible and can deal with articles of any quality; however, requesting reviews on very short articles may not be productive, as there is little for readers to comment on.

All reviews are conducted by fellow editors—usually members of the China WikiProject. While there is a general intent to expand this process to allow for review by subject experts, the preparations for this are not yet complete.

[edit] Instructions

[edit] Requesting a review

  1. Add peer-review=yes to the {{WPCHINA}} project banner at the top of the article's talk page (see the project banner instructions for more details on the exact syntax).
  2. From there, click on the "request has been made" link that appears in the template. This will open a page to discuss the review of your article.
  3. Place === [[Name of nominated article]] === at the top.
  4. Below it, write your reason for nominating the article and sign by using four tildes (~~~~).
  5. Add {{Wikipedia:WikiProject China/Peer review/Name of nominated article}} at the top of the list of requests on this page.

[edit] Responding to a request

Everyone is encouraged to comment on any request listed here. To comment on an article, please add a new section (using ==== [[User:Your name|Your name]] ====) for your comments, in order to keep multiple responses legible.

[edit] Archiving

Reviews should be archived after they have been inactive for some time, or when the article is nominated as a featured article candidate. To archive a review:

  1. Replace peer-review=yes with old-peer-review=yes in the {{WPCHINA}} project banner template at the top of the article's talk page
  2. Move {{Wikipedia:WikiProject China/Peer review/Name of nominated article}} from this page to the current archive page.

[edit] Requests

[edit] Quadrilateral Security Dialogue

I've spent a lot of time placing inline citations throughout each paragraph, giving structure to the body of the text as a whole, and adding photographs. I've also improved the lead to make it more comprehensive. Am trying for Good Article status if possible. -Darouet (talk) 19:47, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Charlie Soong

I just finished a complete rewrite and restructuring of this article, and I'm aiming for Good Article status. There are a few problems that I would like to acknowledge first. First, the birthdate is a contested issue, and I felt that it was most accurate to include the range of years in which he is thought to have been born. The best thing would be to have a section on why there are multiple dates on record and what they are. Second, the sources about Charlie Soong are scarce to say the least, and all of my information comes from one book. I have cited the different pages on which each section is discussed. Any feedback on the article would be greatly appreciated, as this is my first fairly large contribution to wikipedia. My goal is to clean up and rewrite all the articles relating to the Soong family. Hugi (talk) 19:31, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Pings Xiao

Please find out why zh:蕭平實 is currently fully protected. Then comment on the neutrality of this English article and on the notability of its subject. I have a feeling he might count for inclusion as notorious rather than notable! — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 06:42, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Baidu 10 Mythical Creatures

article has been nominated for deletion, but i am unable to verify sources. comments would be welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Baidu 10 Mythical Creatures, particularly from those able to read the references. Yours ever, Czar Brodie (talk) 15:47, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Wahaha Danone joint venture

I just created this article on this very topical subject. The subject matter would make for a good featured article, so I am hoping to enlist your help to get it there qualitatively. Ohconfucius 02:22, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Beijing opera

I have been working on this article for a while, adding refs and such. I now want to receive comments and advice to know where to go from here. Specifically:

  • The history section - Good sectioning?
  • Should information about women in Beijing opera go under history, under Dan (the female Beijing opera role), or in its own section?
  • I can't find good references for the aesthetics of Beijing opera. What should be done with that section?
  • Should I list specific plays in the repertoire section?
  • Anything else you want to comment on?

Thank you in advance for your comments.--Danaman5 05:00, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

My opinion:
  • Sectioning in History is good. I don't think rephrasing the title is necessary though.
  • Woman in Beijing Opera is probably not significant enough for its own section, and fits well enough under Dan.
  • The current references for aesthetics section seems fine for me. Are you going to expand the section?
  • For specific plays, I would recommend starting a separate new list, and just put a see also link in the section.

Other than those, all I have to say for now is that several sections in "Performers and roles" and "Aesthetic aims and principles" will have to be expanded. Total of two pictures for the entire article might be a bit few. Good work, good article! AQu01rius (User • Talk) 04:13, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Song Dynasty

I have poured a lot of work into this article, and I would like to get feedback from others who might be knowledgeable in Chinese history before setting it up as a candidate for Featured Article status.

Can't wait to hear the responses, --PericlesofAthens 06:30, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Some opinions:

  • A infobox would vastly improve the outlook of the article. Same applies to many other Chinese history-related articles.
  • The section organization could be improved. I would change it to something like this:

1 History

1.1 Founding of the Dynasty
1.1.2 Relations with the Liao
1.2 Reformation
1.2.1 Reformers and Conservatives
1.3 Jin invasion: Downfall of the Northern Song
1.4 Southern Song Dynasty
1.5 Mongol invasion: the end of the Song

2 Culture

2.1 Song Dynasty arts

3 Economy

4 Technology

4.1 Gunpowder
4.2 Block printing

5 Society

6 Notes

7 References

8 See Also

Something like this. Just a style proposal.

  • The lead section need to be adjusted and trimmed down as according to WP:LEAD. This is a problem for many other China-related articles.
  • There are currently no inline citations. For a topic like this, you need somewhere around 50 for the article to be considered for FA status. There should be also more notes on areas where needed.
  • It's rather awkward to have "Posthumous Names" section under the Emperors when all of them is listed as "too tedious". Either include the names (I know how long they are, but they won't go over two lines), or don't include the section.
  • The "See also" section is rather unorganized (random articles related to Song), doesn't have a steamed outline of what should be included at present.

Anyways, great work! Cheers! AQu01rius (User • Talk) 17:14, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] S.H.E

Many changes have been made to this article, including the adding of sources, as well as information on their musical style and influence. I know we're missing information on the Girls Dormitory section, so I would like to request to reviewers to temporarily ignore that section. I am looking for prose feedback, as well as feedback on what info seems inappropriate for a musical biography article. I'm also looking to boost this to FA, in which case, I'd like feedback on what this article lacks to get FA status. Thanks. Pandacomics 00:46, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Gwoyeu Romatzyh

I'd appreciate any comments or feedback on this article, which I've worked on for the last 6 weeks or so. I'd like to get it up to GA/A/FA standard if possible. --NigelG (or Ndsg) | Talk 14:48, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Zui Quan

This article needs a peer review for references. Users are complaining about this article having no references nor facts, let they delete the reference I added and the fact it was tied too. A peer review is need for a wider view on the subject. --MahaPanta (talk) 04:46, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

The major problem I have about the sources are that none of them are from peer-reviewed publications. I don't consider Kung Fu Magazine the same as the Journal of Asian Martial Arts. Random webpages with no sources of their own don't meet WP:Reliable. And just because the Austin Shaolin Do school teaches a certain set of drunken forms does not mean that it is representative of the over style. --Ghostexorcist (talk) 20:12, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
